Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I forgot to watch/record BOTH The Cape Downton Abbey! Argh.

One of those, I think, is worse than the other.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Jilli! I saw the GCS book in Games of Berkeley yesterday. I was excited.

Yay! Man, I have hopes of earning out my advance and making royalties on it. Someday.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I always learned that everyone wears black to a funeral as a sign of shared mourning. Those men who didn't have black suits would wear a black tie or armband. Apparently my grandmother got upset with a distant relative who wore dark blue at my grandfather's funeral, like that was not on.

eta: I was only 2 so i don't recall the incident, but mom used to talk about it chidingly, like grandmother had no business being upset about such a silly thing since not everyone has a nice black dress and dark blue is clearly the next most mourning-appropriate choice. I recall thinking "WTF? Who doesn't have a nice black dress?"

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Or, really, completely normal. I see them all the time.

Right?? I thought black suits were the Platonic suit.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I loathe taupe, but it's probably just me.

No, I hate taupe too.

Seriously, P-Cow, black suits are not uncommon on the West Coast.

Also, I have a black tie you could borrow if you want.

No, they're a more recent development rather than Classique.

But they've been in regular rotation for a good fifteen-twenty years now, aside from funeral wear.

Thanks. I'm kind of excited about my Donald Trump tie, though.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I would buy a black suit for P- C ( I've seen a number of younger Indian men in black suit around here - the look is hot ) and for a second suit I would for something that says party . DH has a suit that is a very subtle tiny check in blue -- It is a littl more fun and great for thing like wedding . -- and If y'all think of my Matt -- he is a very conservative dresser. So I'm not talking anything startling , just a little more fun

Jilli, Sears, believe it or not, has something similar. [link]
