Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The nearest independent bookstore to me is a carwash. I don't even.

My boss has just told me it's okay if I don't write paragraphs in my self-assessment. Or if they're only 3-4 sentences. FML. FM now. I'm so screwed. Shoot me if you see me back here anytime soon, okay?

Coding and Sleeping

I think there are two independent bookstores in Kansas City, but one is specifically a children's bookstore. So there's one general purpose one. Unfortunately, it's a pretty long drive to get there.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

The junction is where the Kennedy and the Edens meet. The Hubbard Cave is downtown--it's the tunnel you go through on the Kennedy southbound on your way into the Loop before you meet up with the Dan Ryan and the Eisenhower

I still hear Hubbard Cave on the radio. Of course, I'm a bit miffed that they rarely give traffic for the tollways. Which is what I drive on everyday.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

There seem to be a bunch of indie bookstores around here, but it's a college town. Maybe they're used bookstores; I haven't been into all of them. My god, who have I become.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Huh. I guess maybe just WBBM doesn't.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My (and Plei's) Alma Mater may have the nation's worst school song:

No, that song is awesome!

I'm with tommy.

ita, it's supposed to be bullshit. By their very nature, self-evals are bullshit.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The Edens time is usually Lake Cook to the junction; the Kennedy is usually O'Hare to the interchange (where all the highways meet downtown), so you're right, brenda, that Hubbard Cave isn't the end location in a traffic report, but they do tend to mention it when someone invariably breaks down in the middle of the Cave and slows traffic to a halt. The Eisenhower is Mannheim to the post office, and the Dan Ryan is I-80 to downtown.
