Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

I've only ordered from Zappos twice I think. My budget doesn't really allow for much in the way of new clothes.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I've been amazed at the speed of Zappos delivery: they often outrace Amazon, in fact. Like, order after 4 PM on Wednesday, shoes are delivered Thursday. Astonishing.

Amazon actually bought Zappos a year and a half ago or so - since then, the delivery time has varied from old-Zappos to Amazon-regular.

That said, Zappos, Amazon, and Target are my main shippers, which is a lot these days. (We got our Christmas tree through Target.com! It was awesome.) My UPS guy just sighs every time he sees me.

Skimmed, but I will just F and then C all of Perkin's choices, Paul Gross arms for JZ, offer sympathy for msbelle, and ~ma for WindSparrow.

Found a coat. $10 at a charity Thrift Store, so win win win. Also at that store, like an entire wardrobe of my size stuff from Talbots. I did not buy it all, but did get some. Holy Majoly. I may have to do a picspam fashion show later.

Because books.

Damn it, I knew I forgot something. I don't think the coat is here, msbelle, so yay on the thrift store buy!

Once again pimping my hood, if anyone knows anyone looking for a home in the DFW area of Texas, or just might wanna re-locate. Cute older home like mine, all new carpet, paint, and vinyl flooring in kitchen. 3br, 1.75 bath, 2 car garage, 2 living rooms, big back yard, 1700 sq ft. - Just over $100K. PLUS ME!!!

I actually met the people who live in the house next to this one for sale and they seem like nice normal folks, recent empty-nesters who would love stable friendly neighbors.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's so awesome. I'm still sad about the wardrobe worth of stuff I liked, but not in my size, at Goodwill the last time I was there. Actually, I should go drop off coats there this weekend.

So, my phone "ringing off the hook"? I had two voice mails. WhatEVER.

I'll get around to checking my email in a minute.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Sounds like a great little house, msbelle! Too bad I'm too far north and have no money for a downpayment.

Today's lunch was an omelet I spent too much on, considering I only ate a third of it and tossed out the rest (could have kept it for dinner, but wasn't in the mood). It has settled much better than yesterday's tilapia, which did stay down but gave my stomach problems for a full hour.

Tomorrow's lunch choices do not look appetizing, so I'm thinking about getting a breakfast wrap (chorizo and egg) and putting the leftover portion into an insulated bag for lunch.

I'm definitely going to head over to the grocery store after my afternoon checkup at my surgeon's office and get some more variety for lunch and dinner. I'm stuck in a chili/chicken salad/egg salad rut, and I'm getting tired of it. I'm thinking about getting some veggie burgers and see how those go down--any recommendations for the best ones?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Woo. Just got home from the drug prevention brainstorming session and am tired. Lots of well-intentioned churchy people there and lots of justice system people excited to see the others, but I don`t think the former group knows what they`re in for and I don`t think the latter group will tell them because they`re just happy to have community involvement. I need a hot cocoa now.

Kathy, I'm a fan of Gardenburgers. They've got a range of flavors. I think I usually get the black bean burgers (and then I put spinach and avocado on top, YUM) but I know there are several others. I'm not so crazy about Boca burgers, and I don't think I've had too many other store-bought kinds.

Several restaurants I've been in recently have done their own house-made veggie burgers, a trend of which I heartily approve. (If anyone needs a restaurant recommendation in Little Rock, The House serves an excellent veggie burger made with, IIRC, black beans, barley, and pumpkin seeds. So good!)
