I don't know about you guys, but I've had it with super-strong little women who aren't me.

Now tagless for your comfort.

The cool thing about the family planning clinic they're protesting in Wausau--if you go to a family planning class, you can qualify for free birth control for a year.

I donate money to them every year. That's fucking awesome.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Dear Lord, Cashmere.

Sometimes antiabortion protesters picket outside the hospital, but for some reason they always choose to do it in front of the mental health wing. Which is far away from everything else at the hospital. It is very weird.

Much ma to Windsparrow, erika's mom, and Hayden/fater.

I wish they could just be honest and say, "We want to outlaw contraception because we think God thinks it's naughty."

I don't know, I think it's more about keeping women from having sexual and reproductive freedom and, by extension, returning to "traditional" roles.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is he Hal Jordan or Kyle Rayner? Kyle Rayner I can get, but Hal Jordan? No.

He's Hal, but I think it's inescapable that they'll inject comedy into a superhero movie, unless they want to be explicitly Dark Knight. Call it the Iron Man heritage. And GL ain't no Dark Knight. The learning to have no fear angle (as opposed to innately having no fear), I'm good with.

It doesn't look like it's a comedy, which is okay with me.

Also I think there are a good number of people who believe that family planning and abortion are pretty much the same thing.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

It's a control thing. But people hate that so they pull a Helen Lovejoy instead.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Yes, it's misogynist to the extreme.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Whoa. I just lost the past 18 hours to a norovirus. My immune system must be totally shot because of all the stress I'm under. That was seriously unpleasant. My new onerous tasks:

1) Disinfect whole house for dogsitters
2) Disinfect self before I leave town, so that I don't give this to anyone in Portland (in a definite non-Lara Flynn Boyle capacity)
3) Convince self that I have not, in fact, moved to a higher plane where the consumption of food is now unnecessary.

LA-istas! I got all of your lovely email responses to my email, and I'll answer them soon. I've just been too sick to open the laptop until just now. A plan will be made, yay.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also I think there are a good number of people who believe that family planning and abortion are pretty much the same thing.

Not New York State, thank goodness -- but the chain of clinics I worked for had to sign a thing saying they weren't even talking about abortion, in order to get the state family planning money.

Because if you are dirty enough to have sex, you should be forced to PAY for it.

The fact that often it's the infants that pay for it doesn't appear to be a factor in their calculations, IMO.
