Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Librarian Warlord

I am finally back at work, but my DH's parting words this morning were, "I think I'm getting the flu," so every time the phone rings I'm wondering if he's calling me to hightail it back home.

Happy Anniversary, Pix & ND!

people who do martial arts/boxing - anyone used a water bag instead of traditional heavy bag?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

msbelle: Coquette, Dominique, Bayona. The first 2 are on Magazine, and the 3rd is in the Quarter, and fancier than the other 2. All the usual suspects look good too- though August is definitely fancy. Brigtsen's and Cochon are excellent. Link's other restaurant Herbsaint is good too.

Man, I'm hungry now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't like water bags as much, but that's because the ones I've used were ground-standing, and I prefer hanging.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I agree with today's xkcd: Misconceptions

Punishingly Intricate

sara, I knew exactly the place you were trying to find but see that you found it. Cool stuff!

msbelle, that painting made me a little weepy.

Happy Anniversary, Pix & ND!

Also, sending good thoughts to Andi. Hope everything works out!

In my news, I sleepy. Had impromptu dinner at the bar at our fave restaurant last night with a hilarous cocktail with aged rum, strawberry something, sparkling wine, and lime foam. Ridic and delish! Then a couple of glasses of highly drinkable malbec. And shared the bar (and some of her chips and dip) with Kima from the Wire! She still has a place in town.

Then we had to get up early to see Bob's oncologist who looked at his scans and said everything is good! They'll be checking things out every 4 months or so for the next couple of years but it is ALWAYS a huge relief when they find nothing.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

YAY for good scans!

I seem to not be getting ready for work. I should maybe do something about that.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Happy Anniversary Pix and ND!
