I don't know why I'm trying to buy an HDTV. Clearly I'm not meant to have nice things.

ETA: I know, my diamond shoes are too tight.

hip deep in pie

omg you did that just to bait all of us vs. ita, didn't you!?!?!?! TROUBLEMAKER CANADIAN!

No way man. I am flexible on most things US vs Brit. But Cheque is the one true spelling. A check is a mark you put by a completed item on your to do list.

ETA: I am also inflexible on the pronunciation of niche and foyer. (Neesh and foy-ay.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

oh msbelle, I'm sorry your raspberry zingers are gone, but it sounds like the everything ended on a sweet note.

DH slept at home last night--two nights in a row! But he's back at the hospital tonight. We drove him over with the kids in pjs, and now they are asleep in my bed. My poor MiL--there's still fluid in her lungs which means the infection is still there. I am unhappy about this.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I completed one last onerous task for the day, I cuddled my child in bed until he was asleep and told him he could never do anything that would make me love him less, that I would never not love him, now would he please stop trying.

msbelle wins at being a mom.

well, huh. you people are completely batshit crazy. I am not sure I can hang out here anymore.

My mom, who's got her own brand of batshit crazy, used to say, "water seeks its own level". Grins beatifically.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, msbelle.

Well, I was fail at my very last nemesis task. I folded about a third of stuff, but then remembered that the SO had set out the telescope for me, so I went out and saw one of the nebulae in Orion! It was so cool! And also cold!

The SO is still sleeping in the sickroom, so I'll leave the laundry on the bed and do it tomorrow. I am still calling the day a big win, though, because I got a lot a lot of stuff done. And I did put away the food.

Now for hot cocoa, stoking the fire, and flannel sheets with a fairly new to me Pratchett book.

Looking at the nebulae in Orion is never a fail.

Besides, you took care of all the cord wood despite the protestations of the phoebes.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

holy shit, last night when I was needing to wind down I went on ebay and bid on stuff. I just won 2 pairs of shoes. used, natch (no new clothes for me in 2011) and good ones, merrell and ecco, but huh. I better not win the other stuff.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

so I went out and saw one of the nebulae in Orion

No fail there. It's a nebula! That is so amazingly cool.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It is! It is the first time I`ve seen one on my ownsome. I`ve seen clusters and such at the various observatories I`ve been to. But this was very thrilling finding it myself and then seeing stuff! It was very impressive! Well, first I was dumb and couldn`t work the new eyepiece and put in the old eyepiece and was all, I think the mirrors are frosted over! But no, just out of focus. Oops. So then I found it and put in the new eyepiece and wow!

I could see the Trapezium cluster! Well, I could see the four. But Wikipedia tells me that with my telescope I should be able to separate two of the eclipsing binaries. So now that I know to look for it I should be able to see six.

It was too cold to fuss with the camera but tomorrow I`ll try to work it out indoors so I can take a pic for you guys.

In cord wood related news, my muscles would like to strenuously object to today`s activities.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Grey is alive, like fog, or silvery fur, or tree bark, or the Elven cloaks in LotR. Gray is flat, inert, like paint on a wall, or paper, or concrete.

Ding ding ding! Beverly is absolutely right.
