Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Because books.

That's awesome, megan. You can totally hang in there until March.

We put a collar on Switch and he's never even acted like he notices it. We put one on Cortez, the stray who adopted us, and it lasted maybe a month before he worked it off. He's completely mellow about everything, apparently, but wearing something.

I know I can, I just wouldn't put it past them to get me out beforehand because they know I want to leave anyway.

Art Crawl!!!

Jesse, I think you can get in touch with the maker of the chip and have your details updated. If you don't know who made the chip - get in touch with the ASPCA. They should have the information. Or just ask you vet to scan your cat the next time you go in - that should get you the information you need too,

Oh! Well, none of that, megan's work!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I'll see if I ever remember to do that! The odds of my cat getting out now are extremely low, given I'm on the 4th floor and there is no fire escape or anything....

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Unofficial onerosity underway! Onerous task number one? Getting out of bed after an insomniac night. Onerous task number two, take trash out, achieved. Feet are cold because I lack slip on snow boots and am too lazy to put on real boots but still. And 2b. included taking out the ashes. Onerous task three, outside pants. Even though I`m not going outside because onerous task three is actually laundry. Engage. Right after my coffee, because I hear my kettle boiling.

Yay for unofficial tasking! You can blame sj for your productivity. Yesterday (in bitches, I think) she mentioned she had some stuff to do and so did I! Yeah, shower is on my list too. I haven`t done task three yet, but I did feed and water the birds which I wasn`t going to do because it`s cold and snowy. But I went out to take out the actual trash instead of the recycling I accidentally put in the trash and I saw that their food really was low and I remembered that I feed them because it`s cold and snowy. So pleasant task achieved because now I am eating breakfast and there are a multitude of birds to watch.

Yay, Liese, and thanks for posting this because I was putting off onerous task number one, and seeing your post made me want to get it done. I just need to cancel an appointment, but the first number I tried said the wait was too long, and the second number has had me on hold forever. This onerous task is proving to be extra onerous.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Jesse, I'm pretty sure they can reprogram the chip with your info. Or update the info for the chip in the program. Or you know, update. That. Without having to rechip the cat.

sumi, and other dog people, were spaniels originally bred to hunt anything? Like, terriers for rats, larger terriers for badgers, whippets for rabbits, wolfhounds, deerhounds, etc.? (I think it's fascinating that Great Danes are boarhounds) Or were spaniels bred especially for looks, as pampered darlings of the bored rich?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

IIRC, they were bred for bird hunting - flushing prey out of fields, etc.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't know for a fact, but I think Spaniels were meant to hunt waterfowl. They're filed under "water dogs" in my head.

Yeah, that reminds me I do need to update Darby's chip info. It's tagged to her rescue group now, so not like they couldn't find me, but still.
