Mal: How come you didn't turn on me, Jayne? Jayne: Money wasn't good enough. Mal: What happens when it is? Jayne: Well... that'll be an interesting day.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My sister has always downplayed any geeky inclinations she's ever had, and mocking mine my entire life. I just got off the phone with her after listening to her talk about how she was arguing with her husband over the impossibility of Superman being able to turn back time by flying around the world (in the first Christopher Reeve movie), and then having her tell me how she and her hub discuss whether Supes could have sex without being too, um, vigorous in the act. I told her how much I love that she married a geek, because it brought out all those latent geeky tendencies in her! She told him that I called him a geek, and I made her point out to him that I was being complimentary.

Oh, and she's hoping to hear back on that job interview early next week! They've already done the background check and are expiditing the hiring process. It's doing IT for the Venetian in Vegas, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her!

Our wings are not tired.

The hardwood is the easy part for me. It's the dusting and the clutter that kill me. I might pay someone for the dusting after open window season. Clutter is my own.

See? And I don't have much clutter (what clutter I do have is dealt with before the cleaners come), and I loathe mopping.

I used to have them come 2x a month, then 1x a month, and I just didn't have enough for them to clean. So now I call if I am having houseguests.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay, new thread!

We went to the Ren Faire today. Saw some fun shows/performers, and I bought two pairs of hair sticks. Only downside was the heavy smoke at the White Hart Tavern. I'm surprised I don't reek of smoke.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

But this isn't really a hip-hop version. It's just a version.

(youtupe link) [link]

Some hip-hop rhythms in the background, and a break towards the beginning with about 20 seconds of pure hip-hop, and few hip-hop riffs here and there.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fuck yeah! Giants win. Timmy the Freak beats Doc Halladay.

Stole one on the road. And I like Sanchez for Game 2.

Did you know that Cody Ross' childhood ambition was to be a rodeo clown?

ETA: am watching Bochy's post game show and heard the Rodeo Clown comment. LOL.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

In my sports news I was getting ready to be cranky that the one time I'm in Ohio, the game is a national game so I would have gotten to see it anyway. But instead, I have to be cranky at the whole game.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Must sleep. But the insomnia fairy is being a bitch. Alarm is set to wake at 4:00 am. Yep, you read that right. CJ is on a 6:00 am flight.

The plan is to get dressed, drink one cup of tea before we leave, brew another to drink on the way, make sure he is completely packed, then hit the road (thankfully it should be empty), get me a gate pass, and then send him on his way.

Then I get to come home and hopefully take a power nap before I meet up with Nicole at 10:00am. More caffeine, the farmer's market, Sephora, and a pedicure to follow.

But before any of that, I need sleep.
