beth - is there a reason why she can't access the articles via academic databases for free?
Anya ,'Same Time, Same Place'
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Shir, I think it is because they are historic -- current things are mostly free, but not the older stuff. ( Actually one of our local paper charges for anything more than a week old ) But I'll be double checking once I get the citations from her .
Happy birthday, Sparky!
I feel the need to remind everyone, including myself, that my parents do not, in fact, spend every waking hour plotting how best to make my life miserable. Sometimes they are normal people. And sometimes we are a normal family.
Awesome thing to remember.
I did , however; have the camper
I had the Dream Car. I pretended it was different cars.
I know, I know. You are all shocked at this.
beth, I have read and enjoyed free access to plenty of articles, dated back to the 19th century via jstor, WoS, Muse, Google Scholar and etc.. That's why I'm asking.
I never got my Barbie Dream House but I did have the Millennium Falcon.
That's good to know Shir -- part of why i asked her for the citations -- to see if I could find different ways to accss them -- or even find other articles .
Beth, she should not have to pay for anything for a paper. Jstor will have lots from that era; if she needs newspapers, the NYTimes is online all the way back for free. And, of course, her library may have print journals and newspapers on microfilm if she has citations. Suggest she contact her college librarian about their online subscriptions; they usually have an instant message help service.
I just need to vent somewhere where Mom won't read. I sent out an email about Thanksgiving asking everyone who was coming to edit and forward to the group. D points out that that's kind of a lot to ask so I shouldn't be surprised everyone replied to me with separate emails. Mom was bugging me to send out another email listing everyone's contributions which I finally did yesterday. This morning she sent me three separate emails of things to add. sigh. Thank-you. I feel better now.
beth, she should be able to get the articles for free via her university databases. Jstor will be her best friend as it's both a database and an archive of old journal articles. For articles she finds that aren't scanned into Jstor, she should be able to find past volumes of academic journals in her uni library.
supposedly , she was looking through her library databases -- but she is at the local CC right now, which may be part of the problem. Her professor was not much help ( pay for them if they don't cost to much ) . You guys have all ready been much more help .
