Daniel your mom and her BF have been in my thoughts.
We had pictures taken at Sears which came out beautiful! And now we're slounging a bit before dinner.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I was very annoyed at the phone this morning. I was dreaming about a very inspired ad campaign for Dove Dark Chocolate, and it featured very-carefully posed bodice-ripper-cover type photography of a woman dropping those individual chocolate bits on the naked body of a smiling man and about to nibble them off of him. The ad line was "Don't fantasize about it. Do it." Then my dreaming mine considerately began filming the commercial for the ad campaign, featuring some dark purple bedding in the shade used on the dark chocolate wrappers--and then the phone rang.
I missed my calling, I think. Too bad I was certain doing advertising would steal my soul.
I would buy that chocolate. I am just saying.
The SO just called! He has picked up the dog, who is not hallucinating and is apparently just fine. He did have to have one extraction, which I thought, and we just have to do better with his teeth. Apparently he's just vulnerable like that and we need to keep them clean. He doesn't really chew stuff is the problem, I think. But it's possible that the reason he didn't chew was pain from the problem tooth, so maybe once he heals up he will?
Anyway, I heard him whining in the background while the SO was on the phone, and was all, aww. But the SO says, nope, he's back in fine form and was calling after another dog he saw. So I'm so glad.
I don't love leaving him with the dogsitter so soon after this, but the dogsitter adores him, so I think he'll be fine. We just have to make sure he stays on top of the antibiotics.
Congratulations, sj!

I am not certain about dogs, but I know that cats don't chew. Their teeth are not made for it, and I am under the impression that dogs have similar teeth. It might pay to check the amount of refined carbs in the food you feed.
My parents and sister called to wish me a happy birthday. My birthday is tomorrow, but it was my grandmother's rule that you must always call someone to wish them a happy birthday the night before their birthday, not the day of, so we're continuing that. I like it -- makes my birthday last a little longer.
Just had to deal with one student pleading for a better grade today. Actually, not pleading so much as bargaining. Nearly ten full minutes of, "Well, if I get an A on the final, then will you give the final more weight in the average? My father says that he does that with his students if they do much better on the final than the did during the semester." "No. The grading scale is set by the department, and I can't make any changes." "Well, I think I can get my quiz grade up with the next few quizzes. If I do, then can you make the quizzes worth a higher percentage of the grade?" "No. The grading scale is set by the department, and I can't make any changes." Etc.
Well, I've got my appt. It's next Wednesday afternoon.
I hope it's nothing. It bothers me that there was something on my ekg from last year and I had no idea.
Liese - I'm glad your dog is okay. It is a problem: the none chewing dogs, but perhaps a weekly bone?
