When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Yep, Liese is right on. At the shelter, we had to have a 1:5 ratio of qualified staff -- no volunteers -- for the teenagers at ALL times. The on-call person was guaranteed being called in at least 3 or 4 times a week, just to ensure ratio.

I know those jobs burned me out, but I am so glad to have learned the things I did. I have direct experience in how I deal with crises of all types, and that's a reassuring bit of self-knowledge to have. It hurt in the getting of it, but I wouldn't trade it.

BTW, I'm SOL on the OTB. They don't have it in my size. I think I'll go to the store and see if they can order it, though.

Yes. Never pass up your OTB, else you'll wind up like I did, scouring eBay in hopes that someone would have it.

Yes, this is a true cautionary tale. Which reminds me, I need to start checking Ebay UK for my OTB again.

At our wedding, we walked down the aisle to the pavanne from the Orlando soundtrack.

Actually, I found the OTB elsewhere, but I have a coupon at Macy's! Maybe I'll see if Nordy's will match it.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

We might end with The Beautiful South, for no particular reason.

LOVE. We walked in to the Beatles' "Two of Us" and walked out to Hank Williams' "Baby, We're Really In Love," both played by Mark's uncle K. I had long wanted to walk down the aisle to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by the Darkness, but we figured that would be a tricky one for K. to cover. And the Darkness is better for the dance floor, anyway.

Liese, I feel lucky to know you. I'm in awe of the work you do and the person you are.

Awwww. "The Prettiest Eyes" is kind of mine & Pete's song, and I get sniffly every time I hear it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, I had forgotten that we did have the Beatles as part of our ceremony. For the bit where I walked around the groom 7 times, my sister sang "Here, There, and Everywhere" a capella.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Liese, I am thinking "with you" thoughts right now.

erika, I don't even know what to say, but here {{{{erika}}}}

bonny, I'm glad that lines of communication are open.

Kate, that's great that you heard from your friend.

At our wedding, we walked down the aisle to the pavanne from the Orlando soundtrack.

Guh. Gorgeous.

-t, I hadn't heard of the bride circling the groom before - what a beautiful bit of ceremony and symbolism. Darn, I wish my religion had as many sweet little touches to the marriage ceremony. Too many of the ones that are there are so steeped in property transfer rather than meeting of souls.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We have no song. Should we have a song?
