DCJ: yikes. So glad you're going to get a CPAP. Those are dangerous low levels. Also, sleep apnea can exacerbate diabetes, so you need oxygen, man!
Oh, I have a question on the phrasing of something. I know that sometimes I word things oddly, and/or I assume that other people are understanding what I said in the exact same way that I meant it, but then it will turn out that that isn't true. I'm used to that, so I try to be careful in what I say.
Quiz time:
"From the catalytic converter to the tailpipe would need to be replaced."
Do you read that as:
(A) Including the catalytic converter,
OR
(B) Starting behind the catalytic converter (and therefore not including it), and then going back to the tailpipe?
I'm just curious, because my dad and I had a 10-minute conversation of frustration that was frustrating precisely because of a misunderstanding about the aforementioned phrase. And this was a situation where I thought I was being clear.
I would say including the converter.
I read it as more B.
DCJ, can't help but wonder if your low oxygen levels are playing into your leg not healing. So Not A Doctor, but I seem to recall something about cells needing oxygen to heal.
I would have to ask for clarification. I could read it either way, but I would know that immediately and ask if the catalytic converter was included.
Can I just say: hooray for modern medical treatment, may it be efficacious for everyone that needs some.

Now, I know precisely jack and shit about cars, so there may have been a better way to phrase it. But it was just so clear in my brain that I was agog that he thought it meant one thing while I meant another. We actually had the following exchange:
Dad: "But you said, 'from the catalytic converter to the tailpipe.' "
Me: "Right! FROM the catalytic converter to the tailpipe!"

I would think (A), but I would ask for clarification, too.
