Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

A person I was hoping was gone from my life has sent me two messages on Facebook. The good news is she wanted to touch base with me before she leaves the country; the bad news is that she has a contract counseling American soldiers, which could be disastrous for the national defense.

I found my glasses! I think this is a sign I need to get a cheap backup pair.

I'm sorry I've just been able to bitch and run this last week. I don't know how to explain my family, except to say that we appear to inhabit different planets. On my planet, people can figure out how to use a strange phone and know how to dial their own cell phones. On my planet, people don't assume that everything everyone else does or says is an insult of some type.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I did think of Vortex today when I was psyching myself up to send the letter and it helped.

Glad I inspired you! I will return the favor by telling you that you rock and I have every confidence that you will get the new job.

Of course, on that front, I just found out that I did not get a job I wanted. Feh.

“Not dead yet!”

Tonight's dinner: seared pork tenderloin, finished in the oven then served w/ sauteed onions, apples, mushrooms, reconstituted dried ginger, cherries, and dates and a reduction sauce of apple cider, cream, and butter. (Not too much of the latter two ingredients).

Side was roasted rosemary & curried sweet potatoes and green beans.

I am comfortably full.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Hairpats and ~ma to them what needs it.

A couple hours ago an internet acquaintance asked if I could quickly do a parody song for him. Since I want to start practicing my songwriting skills again, a (albeit non-paying) commission is a great way to do it. I've already come up with the short song. However, now I run into not only the way my gimpiness limits what instruments I can play, but also software learning curves. Seriously, just writing and arranging songs again is hard enough. I am envious of musicians who could probably have cranked out in an hour what it'll take me a couple days to do. OTOH, it's good to be writing and thinking musicthink again.

Ooh, Barb's dinner sounds delish! I had a friend over for dinner, so I actually...made dinner. Arugula ravioli (from TJ's) and asparagus with a gorgonzola walnut cream sauce I made. And salad with orange pepper and avocado.

Scrappy, would you be a sales person or managing sales people?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Arugula ravioli (from TJ's)

I tried that recently too. Kinda nom. I served it over actual arugula though and it was overkill the first time.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Despite how backwards your life seems to have gone Spidra , I keep seeing things that say you are still going forward.

Arugula ravioli (from TJ's)

Oh, that sounds fantastic. I need to go to TJ's when I'm well.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Mmm, both Barb's and meara's meals sound yummy. We had a staple meal around these parts, salmon (poached in the microwave, easy peasy), brown rice, and salad.

I really wanted the pumpkin (or squash?) ravioli I saw the other day, but they keep not having it when I'm actually willing to buy it.
