Oh, look at the pretties!

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

ugh, Hil. That would stump me too.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

When someone sends a friend request and I ignore it, what does it look like to them?

Facebook changed the friend requests at some point, so "Ignore" has been replaced by "Not Now." What that does is hide that friend request so it doesn't keep showing up. The person will see "Awaiting friend confirmation" until you go into your hidden friend requests and specifically hit Ignore, at which point they will see the "Add a friend" button again and be able to send you a new friend request.

Ahh, OK. That's not so bad.

Hil, could she get tutoring?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I barely use FB anyway, so everyone gets ignored. But there is one person I'd really like to flip a finger at, and I can't believe she ever dared send me a friend request.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Ugh. Somehow, went from having a cold and feeling a little sick to being really nauseous and feeling like hell in the space of a few hours. Do not want.

Compassionately intolerant

I ignore much of what comes to me on Facebook and spend too little time there to keep up. Every now and then, though, I get something great from it. High school connections? Not so much.

Speaking of friends...not only am I leaving the bff behind, based on recent incidents, but another good friend seems to have gone straight off the rails and I was not nearly as polite as I should have been in response.

She went on a rant about how Barack Obama (complete with slapping her hand on the table with each syllable) is taking her hard earned money against her will.

It turns out that, completely unknown to me or any of our friends, she is a Teabagger and Anne Coulter fan.

Honest to goodness, that would not be a problem for me. My friends are nothing, if not diverse. But it is as if this friend doesn't even see me anymore.

The crux of it? Anti-business sentiment coming out of Washington. I've never been anything but totally proud of and supportive of her business.

I tried to talk to her about not letting her political views destroy her everyday happiness and using her anger to make the change she wants. She could totally run for office...I'd even help. But no. Now I'm one of 'them.'

Sigh. The Universe certainly seems to be cleaning my house.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

mmmm. After some ill advised choices on Friday night, I couldn't face cooking on Saturday, so my great dinner got postponed. So, I just finished turkey meatloaf with mashed potatoes and sautee'd spinach. Tasty and healthy!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

1. I want Vortex to advocate for me.

2. I want Vortex to cook for me.

That's keen. I can do that now for my sister's Family Request.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I applied for a management job in the sales department of my company today. There is the possibility to make a LOT more money--but even if I GET the job, which is a remote possibility, what if I make a bad salesperson and lose my job, when I am already a good HR Manager and HAVE a job? I did think of Vortex today when I was psyching myself up to send the letter and it helped.
