Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

If I didn't say it already, congrats on the great press, Shir!

meara, I totally thought you'd cut her loose when she invited you to the pill thing.

More sllllllooooooooowwwww progress on the raised beds today. My dad got started lifting the St. Augustine out of the place where one bed is going and using it to fill another place he lifted from. The rest of the parts arrived from the manufacturer and they gave us 2 extra pieces, which is better than the 2 pieces they shorted us last time.

Started building the 2nd bed up by myself carrying only one block of wood at a time and being very careful. I realized I'd been operating on the assumption that the 22" height was 3 boards high and had calculated our soil needs based on that. It turns out it's 4 boards high. So we should have done one more soil run yesterday. I don't want to bug the construction site again so I'm going to have to purchase more manure/compost. Which except for the added cost isn't a bad thing. This is good sandy soil but it's poor in organic materials.

I HOPE it's finished tomorrow. We need to find the right size drill bit and finish drilling a hole on a defective piece we received. Then I have to get my Dad to shovel the piled-high soil into the 2nd bed. I mix the manure in while that's happening. Then I can finally plant the plants that have been straining at their pots for 3 weeks now.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Are you taking pictures of your progress, Spidra?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's great that you're getting publicity for the site and for your efforts, Shir!

It's a great site for gardeners, Laga. It's social, it works well with Flickr, Picasa and Twitter and it gives you great tools to track your plants' progress. The latter is the main reason I joined. I was looking for good gardening software when the site developers found my stuff on Flickr and asked me to join their beta. I haven't been active for the last year because of the house sale and losing my old garden so there are tons of feature additions I can't speak knowledgeably about.

I'm trying to get a picture of my mantel uploaded so you can see it at home with the other Oz-themed snowglobes. I feel that it has become another Thing.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

And so do great occurrences come to pass because one person said, "I can do something to make the world better." Yay, Shir.

Did anyone post the article to the goodstuffhappenedtoday Tumblr site? I will if no one has.
