Geez, Aims. Allow me: May that professor's washer and dryer keep breaking down, even after he buys new ones, so that at least once a month, he must schlepp to the laundromat, every month for the rest of his life.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sorry your professor butted in where he wasn't wanted, Aims. Congrats on managing all that workload AND getting a 3.5 GPA!
Bummer about the citizenship, Zenkitty. My dad could have been grandfathered in as an Irish citizen right up to the point where Ireland joined the EU but he didn't do it. So he can't pass it on to me, dammit. Same with my mom and Italian citizenship.
Seska, smonster - thanks. It really helps to see your words of sympathy because I don't get much understanding at home. The alarm went off at 6:30 today and I just turned it off because I was aching so badly I knew I needed to give my body more time to physically recover. I may go back to bed again because I can feel I just won't be capable of much.
Playing devil's advocate--while I think the prof should have couched his email in "perhaps," I suspect he was responding out of concern rather than trying to tell Aims what to do, especially since this was a response to a series of emails about why she graded herself low. t shrugs Not saying he should have said it--just saying I think he may have meant well.
Anyway, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Also, HAPPY 13th ANNIVERSARY to Jilli and Pete! They are here visiting us this week, so I get to tell them in person once they wake up. Hurray!
ETA: Spidra, meant to say earlier that I am so sorry about the situation you are in.
Spidra, I do hope you get to feeling better as the day wears on. And I hope understanding for your health grows at home, as well.
I'm sure that in his mind he meant well, and I can see him saying something if I was doing poorly or failing his class and came to him with excuses. But neither applies. I was honest in my self-assesment and said, "I will strive to do better with my time the second half of the term." and I have a solid B in the class.
Then again, most of what this particular professor says bothers me since he a) corrected my typo in front of the whole class and referred to me by name when he did it and did not correct anyone elses and b) referenced my personal blog in the class blog to slap at me about my questions regarding peer review.
Happy Birthday DJ. Happy anniversary Jilli & Pete.
Spidra feel better. Nilly's muscles I order you to recover quickly and hope this is more effective than every other time I try to give orders.

Ack, well that puts an entirely different light on it. Bad professor! No biscuit.
Oh, yeah! I get so mixed up when I've got tons of posts in both Bitches and Natter that I lose track of what I want to respond t-HI NILLY!
That moving situation sounds pretty hard. I'm so sorry the elevator is out-of-service right when you need it. I hope the new place is great, though. ONE MORE ROOM!

You know when I first smited him, I thought about adding, "May all the repair people treat him like a simple, ignorant peasant when he questions why things keep breaking," but deleted it because it seemed too harsh. Now I think he deserves the addition.
Happy birthday, Daniel!
Thank you for the anniversary wishes, everyone!
