So a couple years ago my mom got a hip replacement.
The hip prosthesis she got? Just got recalled.
They're doing tests now to make sure nothing's terribly wrong. I don't know if she'll have to get another surgery or something. Some hip~ma, if you will?
In other news, I responded to her e-mail thusly:
Are you kidding me? Of all the prosthetic hips in all the world...no wonder it didn't seem like it helped. Grr. I hope nothing's too wrong.
She responded thusly:
NO I'M NOT KIDDING......I JUST DID THE BLODD TEST AND X-RAY AND MRI ARE IN NOV...
I think we have communication issues.
Wow, P-C. Sending hip~ma her way.
Will your mom take it in the spirit intended if you tell her your Internet friends are wishing her good hip~ma? Tell her the white she-devils wish her well.
That sucks. I read an article in the Times recently that said that the FDA fast-tracked those hip replacements through (I think due to some cronyism, but I could be remembering wrong). That really really sucks.
And, yes, it looks like there's a bit of a communication issue. Perhaps less slang or sarcasm? Keep very literal?
P-C that really sucks for your mom. Much ~ma to her.
I mean, she put the damn surgery off for years because she knew there would be so much recovery and rehab time afterward, and now it looks like she'll have to go through it all AGAIN?
I wonder if there's a class action suit you can get in on. That sucks so damn bad.
Man, that really sucks, PC. I hope your mom doesn't have to go through too much to put this right.
I'm just waiting to see how the hip thing was your fault, Polter.
~~ma to momma cow~~
Well DUH it's his fault--hes in the medical industry, right?? So he shouldve known, or pulled some strings! Cmon, P-C, don't you know anyone important? Jeeeeez.
Still no email from girl. Which is better, I suppose, than the feeling-inevitable-in-my-brain "oh. Sorry. Busy" response.
