Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Have fun, Seska!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Amyth, I'm so glad for your brother and your family!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Good luck, Seska! And amyth - it's so wonderful to read your news this morning. I'm so happy for you!

ION: I still have one or two technical problems to solve, and a new header to find/better design, and a better tagline to find, and a press release to make up - but other than that, Hollaback Israel is ready to go. And I just spent Way Too Much Hours of looking at the screen yesterday.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh hey, one thing I do still get and have no explanation for are short bursts of stabby pain usually near one of my temples, but could be anywhere. Only lasts for a couple of seconds and isn't consistent, but it is horrible. Anybody know what that is?

I get more typical migraines about once or twice a year, but I also get what are called atypical migraines every so often. First happened in college, where I (seriously) thought I had a brain tumor in my nose -- I get this pain that feels like someone is stabbing a nail through the bridge of my nose. Literally. NAILPOUND.

Makes me stop and gasp. And then it happens again and again and again. Generally it goes away after an hour, but not always. When I got it diagnosed, it had been happening every 30 seconds for half a day, and I really thought I was dying. I got a shot of something at the clinic, and a Rx for Midrin (this was about 92).

If I get a migraine, is is almost always stress-related, and I take a couple of Ambien and just cover my face with a pillow and pass out, and it's generally gone the next day.

I promised that I'll post here once I'll get there. This is what Hollaback Israel is going to look like: [link]

I just need to solve a technical issue or two, but I'm almost there. And actually, shivering with excitement.

(I know. All in Hebrew. Sorry!)

“Not dead yet!”

Good news: Yesterday I upped myself from one yoga class a week to two, for the first time in over three years.

Bad news: My body hates me today.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Thanks, y'all! I am so happy this morning. I spoke with Middle Brother, who called my SiL this morning. Oldest Brother will be in intensive care for a few more days, and she's only allowed to see him for a couple of hours a day, but she said that he was so happy to find that he could speak (though his speech was slurred) that he was singing last night, singing "That's Amore" to her. He's going to be in rehab for a while, learning how to use his right arm again, and they've upgraded his tumor to a grade IV, which isn't really a surprise, I guess, but the family mood at the moment is buoyant.

Middle Brother and I are even planning a joint visit to Long Island in November now, so that we can share a hotel room. (We both agree that SiL doesn't need us all over her house with everything she's got going on.) I'm not getting my hopes up, because Middle Brother has flaked out on me before, but I am riding the high of good news and hoping for the best. And I have lots of places to stay in the city with easy access to the LIRR if it doesn't pan out.

And today, I party with Kate P. and her DH! Life is good. Love to Buffistas and your powerful ~ma!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

That is EXCELLENT! I'm so glad the surgery went so well!
