Dear Sammie Cat,
I know you are freaked out by me sleeping for 6 1/2 hours straight because that. Never. Happens. Even when I'm not having epic allergies. But standing on my chest? Not helping. I promise I wasn't in a coma, and I promise you will get fed within half an hour of the usual time.
Dear Teppy and Epic,
Thanks for your suggestions. The dosage change on the Mucinex and the Benedryl helped a lot. I'm looking forward to trying Tessalon if this doesn't ease up significantly in next couple of days.
Dear Everybody Else Here,
Thanks for your good wishes and encouragement.
Love,
Me
Timelies, all. Popping in to share this (with Seska and Shir in mind, in particular):
'Where you sit often determines where you stand'
from today's Jerusalem Post
Twenty senior members of the municipality’s engineering and planning committees saw Jerusalem from a different point of view on Thursday: how the city looks and feels from a wheelchair.
“Ninety percent of the public space in Jerusalem is not accessible,” said Dyonna Ginsburg, director of Bema’aglei Tzedek (“Circles of Justice”), a non-profit organization which advocates for accessibility and workers’ rights that organized the tour around the German Colony’s Emek Refaim.
Interesting article, Shari. I'm sure the challenges of creating accessibility in cities as old as Jerusalem must be enormous.
Interesting article, Shari. I am reminded of my little pilgrimage to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The Girl bumped me, in my chair, down what felt like hundreds of ancient steps (and every one hurt, and I'm expecting a big reward in heaven or I'll be suing God for discrimination). And after all that heavy lifting, she twisted her ankle stepping down one small step into the church. Heh. Poor thing.
Access is difficult in ancient cities - it's kind of the way it has to be. I get much more angry about a branch of Starbucks or a big shopping centre that doesn't have proper access.

Andi, glad to hear it sounds like you got some decent sleep. I hope that helps a little with cough, too.
Today is flu shot day at work. I'm hoping it doesn't give me an ick, which it has been known to do. I want to go see RED this weekend.
Sail, I feel a lot less desperate. It helps, a lot. Best wishes for your flu shot reaction.
Travel~ma sj! Feel better Andi!
I took DH to dinner last night as a late bday present. The dinner was a belgian ale tasting with a member of the Saint-Feuillien owning family. The dinner was good, though the pairings got a little odd. We both liked the Saison and the darker malt they served at the end, and DH liked the Blonde as well. All in all, a nice night.
Which I topped off this morning with dentist visit #2 and even though mah mowf is fuzzeh, and he did another filling in addition to seating the permanent cap (and oh thank dog for that), he was still made of magic beans and pretty much the best dentist I've ever had. Even so, I hope I don't have to spend too much time with him going forward.
What are people doing for the weekend? It's almost the weekend, right?
NOM.
It was!
Hey! looks like I just got a sideways invitation to speak at a conference in NO in April. I'm considering it. Mostly because of the visiting potential, not necessarily because of the conference. Should I feel guilty?
