Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much right outcome~ma to Nikki. And mystery~ma to Shir.

Ever have one of those weekends where you spend so much time not talking to anyone that when you run into friends at a grocery store you're incapable of holding a conversation? I thought I'd gotten past that and yet, evidence suggests not.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Much peace-ma to Niki, bonny. And I think paranoid is better than sick, based on your recent severe illness.

ION, if I were to tell my bff's stb husband that if he hurts her I'll beat him to death with a shovel, I can blame that on the fever, right?

Why blame it on the illness? If you do it straight, with a really evil look in your eye, he'll take you more seriously. Which is all to the good, right? If you're gonna make a threat, make sure you (a) can deliver and (b) scare people.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I got in. You're unbelievable, people. Thank you. I'm positive the ~ma really helped.

I won't reveal the name of the place because I like my privacy (though you may ask my in private), but I'm now working for some very esteemed research institute in my university at a mostly administrative position, and I have two of my ex-professors as my bosses, and one ex-lecturer as somewhat of... not sure, colleague isn't it, but it's a side-by-side gig.

So that ex-lecturer, who I stayed in touch with because he somewhat understands the crooked ways my mind work in, said he thinks the institute needs someone like me. To sum up the story in his own words: "I think they need someone like Tosh from Torchwood, or maybe a combination of hers and Ianto... and you'll be perfect". Later, of course, he paid for this by reassuring me that no, they don't need a real Tosh and that that was a metaphor.

So we had a meeting today, and after 10-15 minutes it seemed like everyone will earn from having me there. So I kind of started immediately. And I'm still trying to understand how the hell I got there. I'm still an undergrad, dammit. I don't even have an idea how to call them now: by first name? I mean, they are some very respected people in the academic world. It'll be weird. I'm still confused, but apparently I'm well liked. And people, there is serious work to be done there. I shall be using the Tech thread to ask some questions wrt that. So I'm trying to concentrate on the work. That, I can do. Communication with them-big-ones, however, is still something to work on.

Yay? Yay!

(And of course - yes, if I won't suck that means I'll be able to come next year and see you people!)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Congratulations, Shir!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Congrats, Shir!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

That's wonderful, Shir! I'm so happy for you!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Wonderful news, Shir!
