As a not always turn in homework , but done kid. One , I was bored. Two, I didn't want to here the same thing over again - Beth should be neater, Beth should be less careless. Three,I did it - so I got what I needed out of it. and of course, once you haven't turned in some, why would turn stuff in later.
I only know one thing that helped someone. He needed to make up an English class in High School. So his mom had him take a college course at the local CC. He Aced it. and his mom was abe to say I know you're ready for college , but the state of CA says you have two more years. If you don't get out of high school , you won't go to college

I checked with inflation and the plastic horses I grew up with would be at least $50 in today's market. Now I feel all spoiled.
edit: they're still making them and they're under $50 but just barely. Spoiled rotten, I was. I probably had 30 of them.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.
I just don't know how to motivate him. Or even effectively communicate with him about why it's actually really important to do things like pass your classes. And it's making me grrrr.
