I'm not sure about that, since the Channel wasn't flooded during Katrina/Rita.
It is a buyer's market to some extent, but folks who bought in 2006-08 bought at very high prices, not only because of the general housing price rise, but also because during that time, housing stock here was depleted, therefore, at a premium. So folks are still trying to get back their investment.
It explains the wildly divergent pricing, but I am curious why this particular property is so crazy ass dirt cheap. No lot to speak of, for sure. But is that all? Hmm...
