Beverly, I'll definitely try the sock thing. I have washable (soft) wrist braces, but if I didn't, the brace liner is a grand idea too. Any more useful household tips I should know about, Bitches? You appear to have the best ideas.
The house looks fab, Erin!
I just reread Neil Gaiman's American Gods. It ended differently from the way I remember, as if the epilogue had magically rewritten itself.
I've never actually read any Gaiman. I know this is something I should rectify. Being dyslexic, books take me forever even though I'm a big fan of reading. Still haven't read all of Pratchett's. Really must.

Best Spike Moments!
Had to share.

Can't books on tapes help with that?
Ditto wrt Pratchett.
ETA: something's terribly wrong in that picture. Batman's not marrying Robin. [link]
Ooh. Those are lovely plants, Spidra. It's always interesting to me to see what people grow in other parts of the country--most of those are flowers I rarely if ever see around here (USDA zone 6-7, with vicious summers and winters). I saw that a lot of those plants are CA natives, yes? One thing I love about the garden center near my house is that they work with the local botanical garden and encourage people to use as many native plants as possible when landscaping.

It's very early, and my mind immediately went to a Monty Pythonish place of "But most of our native plants are carnivorous!" "Well, we won't deal with the invasive species if we get all namby-pamby about it, will we!"
All hail Buffista~ma! I got a job interview for tomorrow! (not the perfect job, but it's a bad one. And remember, I need a job to come and visit you people, to see Halloween and the shop everything I can in Anthropologie).
Fingers are still crossed for better offers, but again, it's OK for a year.
Edit: also, apparently my secret talent is to recognize lines from Jabberwocky, never mind what language it's written in.
Yay Shir! Much interview~ma to you.
So I come home and see that Sox lost a temp crown, and after reading the advice about denture adhesive, I'm wondering if that would work for him, too, even though it's a permanent crown, not a temp one.
I would think it would help to keep the area covered until it can be reattached.
Good luck, Shir! And that's a great talent.
Lovely crisp fall morning. I think Frankie and I need to hit the dog park today.
Congrats on the interview, Shir! Interview~ma, too.
Can't books on tapes help with that?
Yes, but unabridged they take the same amount of time, and I'm not keen on abridged. Plus I like reading. I do buy audiobooks from Audible to listen to in the car from time to time. Read The Time Traveller's Wife that way.
