Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

What are living costs in NOLA comped to where you are now? If it does tank in a year, are there jobs in NOLA in your area of passion? What's the longevity of your job right now?

Do they offer one of those payable health thingies, you know, like a health savings account?

I agree; I love a pro/con list, but put tangibles and intangibles on it.

You could get hit by a airplane toilet tomorrow. If it worth it to try to follow your passion, even if it doesn't pan out? Will you regret it if you don't try?

What's your gut say?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I think they're about comparable, but I haven't found a good website. A lot will depend on where I live in NOLA.

If it does tank in a year, are there jobs in NOLA in your area of passion?

Yes.

What's the longevity of your job right now?

Signs aren't great - the department that pays my bills just laid off 5 people; the department I work for (long story) has been planning to roll my salary into their budget but haven't done it yet. If it came time for layoffs, I think I'd be vulnerable.

Do they offer one of those payable health thingies, you know, like a health savings account?

I don't think so. My current job does.

This website says NOLA is cheaper, but mostly b/c of housing and I'm a little sceptical of their algorithm. [link]

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Much decision-making ~ma to you, smonster.

I think my facebook is about to become home to a debate about why skimpy costumes for kids and tweens are not appropriate, and saying "It's just for Halloween" is not an excuse. This should be interesting to watch happen.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I want to go to the library where it's nice and cool but I have to walk through the oven to get there.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I love a pro/con list, but put tangibles and intangibles on it.

Yes, yes, yes. Stuff like "I like the vibe of these people" is just as important as money, IMO.

Of course, I sometimes get crazy and give each thing on my pro/con list a weight. 5 if really really important, 1 if only mildly important, or somewhere in between.

why skimpy costumes for kids and tweens are not appropriate

I dunno. 9 year old hooker costumes are .... Jeebus. I can't even finish that sentence.

Smonster, tons of decision~ma for you. I wish I could offer advice, but I don't think I can offer anything that hasn't been said. Trust your gut. Don't feel pressured by their calendar. It's a HUGE decision.

Um. Awkward sharing of info, but hey, it's Bitches. There was talk with costume shop folk that reminded me of talk in here wrt bra sizes. And they said there was this handy chart online for some of the manufactures. Dunno if it's well known, but thought I'd share. And hey, it's boobies! So, of course I pay attention. [link]

That's not awkward, o-a; that's VALUABLE.

Thanks.

well, awkward in that I'm not a bra wearer. But yes, valuable, hence the sharing.
