Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Keep us up-to-date on bonny, please. I worry about her.

Also, guess where Aims is right now? In her classroom! That's where!!

I love today and tomorrow for my video production classes. I'm showing them "Hush" as an example of visual storytelling. I love that I can use Buffy for an actual lesson.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Speaking of brownie recipes, I just remembered that at least one of the children coming to Matilda's party on Sunday has a severe dairy allergy. Possibly eggs too (I need to check the allergy list posted on the classroom kitchen door). Does anyone have vegan treat recipes (or vegan treats we could, say, find at Trader Joe's) to offer, so this kid can have at least one sugary treat he can gorge himself on like all the other kids?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I was just thinking yesterday I should give her a call to see how she is doing. Naturally all this thinking happened when I was nowhere near my phone.

vegan treats we could, say, find at Trader Joe's

The soft baked snickerdoodles are vegan and gluten free. And made of crack.

I am pretty sure rice krispy treats are both vegan (if made with margarine) and gluten-free (I attended a birthday party for a kid with those issues, and the cake was made of 'em!)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This is the gluten-free brownie recipe I used, sans chocolate chips because my hippie organic food coop doesn't carry them. (Of all the ingredients I did *not* expect to have trouble finding..seriously, what kind of grocery store carries xanthan gum and brown rice flour but not chocolate chips! They do have baking chocolate, but the only chips were carob. Hippie FREAKS.)

Definitely follow her advice about underbaking - I baked mine just until the crust formed and they were deliciously gooey and fudgy.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Rice Krispies treats are made with marshmallow. Marshmallow is made with gelatin. Gelatin is often made with animal products. I don't know if it's enough to trigger an allergic reaction. I just know that some of the kids in Kara's class couldn't eat them.

Timelies! Today is a day. I'm out of vitamin D. I don't understand why I'm not able to keep up to proper levels. I'm taking a multi-vitamin and extra calcium.

What about that recipe for avocado chocolate mousse that someone (Hil?) posted?
