Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

It's really difficult to think when your brain is slowly rather rapidly roasting inside your skull
Advantage of workshop in basement. It's cool here. Of course, my phone gets no reception. But hey, whatev! Beats the 100º weather outside!

Ho. Lee. Shit. I'm working in a classroom!! An honest to goodness classroom! With kids!
Aims, that is AWESOME! We knew you had it in ya! Knock em dead!

a really good explanation of what it is like to have a chronic conditions - It makes me feel lucky, because I have a lot more spoons most days
I liked this. Although my condition is far from Lupus (thankfully), and many of the day to day stuff doesn't eat a spoon or two. But work sure does. And there is a huge difference between being tired, and just running out of steam. Food shop or cook? Cook or clean? By the end of the day, those are my choices. And then there is the few days to recharge your supply of spoons. And the strange one, where sitting too long can cost spoons, which boggles even me! While it's not an idea model, it is helpful to have something physical in your hand to illustrate with.

OK, well, seems my motivation has run off with Meara's. Hopefully they are having more fun than I am. Seems work is giving out one last (hopefully last) paper version of the calendar while the Stage Management Grad Students get acostumed to the google version. So I have to sift through a million events to see what has been added, so I can update my calendar. :: sigh ::

Gronk. That's about all I've got right now.

How long until Thanksgiving?

I gave a quiz today. Same quiz to all four classes. I thought I'd been teaching the same thing in all four classes. One of the problems on the quiz, though -- in three of the classes, most of the students got it right. The ones who got it wrong were mostly the ones who've been struggling with the material for a while, and they all got it wrong in fairly predictable ways. In the fourth class, though, not only did at least half the class get it wrong, they all got it wrong differently, many of them in ways that I cannot follow at all. I'm puzzled.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Odd, Hil, def sounds like that group didn't get the memo at all. Maybe there was a pretty bird outside the window that day?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Yay Aims!

My alarm clock just died. It's lasted something like 11 years, which I guess is good for a fairly cheap clock radio. I'm splurging on one of the dawn simulator ones to replace it. For some reason, the only ones with the outside made of plastic are the ones made for kids. Most of them have the light thing made of glass. When I've just woken up and I'm trying to figure out which button turns an alarm off, I really don't want to have to worry that the clock will shatter if I knock it off the table.

What about one of those alarms made to be thrown? I've considered it...
