'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Oh Nora, I'm so sorry.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Nora. I hope she finds peace soon.

P-C, I'm sorry you got pickpocketed. That happened to me on my last day in Denmark and it was hard to last the last 8 hours or so 'til the flight with no money whatsoever. I'm glad you thought to take the check card out.

ita, it seems it's another brand of nun than the kind we had.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it seems it's another brand of nun than the kind we had.

Now that I pause and think--hello, we went to school in London. So, different.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Thoughts for your family, Nora.

P-C, sorry to hear about the theft. That's so frustrating. My Girl got her bag stolen, complete with two passports, this summer. Such an inconvenience, quite apart from the cost. I hope they find yours.

“Not dead yet!”

Thoughts for you and yours, Nora.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Nora, I'm so sorry. Peace and strength to you and yours.

P-C, that does suck mightily. I'm sorry you lost precious mementos.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Good God, Barb, that woman is an economy-sized bag of crazy. And, yeah, it sounds like she loves her bitterness and grudges and pets them and hugs them and calls them George and will never let go of them. Ugh. I hope your mom's competent and gleeful lawyer has fun mopping up the floor with her.

Oh, P-C, that's awful!

And my old student IDs.

When I read your list of everything you lost, that's the one item that made me gasp, Oh, no! I think Hec has most of his old student IDs and a full 14 years' worth of pictures of Emmett and Matilda in his wallet. It's a tiny portable time capsule, and that loss would be much more devastating than the irritating but replaceable bits of plastic that fill up the rest of the wallet.

And that asshole made you miss Goldfrapp. Insult to injury. Most unnecessary, universe.

I lost a wallet many, many years ago, full of all sorts of young adult Important Things, but the only things that really hurt (and still do) were the senior portraits of a cousin and a friend who had died in car accidents (different accidents, two years apart). I still want them back - the people especially, but, if not them, then at least their pictures. It kills me to think that they were just useless random bits of paper to whoever scavenged the wallet.

And, oh, God, Nora. Much, much coping~ma and all other possible vibes to you, and all your family. That's so hard to watch, and not be able to do much except be present.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Nora}}} I'm so sorry.

P-C, that really sucks. I'm sorry.

Barb, I'm boggling at the crazy of the other author.

That Edward Gorey museum is not far from where TCG and I are getting married. I see a honeymoon day trip in our future.

ita, the founder of the SHCJ order was American but she founded her first school in England so it wasn't out of the realm of possibility.

So with you about the memorabilia. My purse was stolen while I was performing on stage at my first ever gig (not counting open mics). I filed a police report not just on principle but also hoping that someone would turn in the discarded items if they were found. It was a GREAT purse plus it had my first driver's license and my UCLA student ID. Unfortunately, no Good Samaritan turned in the items. They probably went to the landfill. At least these days we can scan our stuff and have a digital copy somewhere if we have enough foresight to do that.

I hope your situation turns out as best as it possibly can, P-C.
