“Not dead yet!”

Half a dose of Tylenol PM (1 pill) usually knocks me on my ass. But then again, I'm a massive lightweight. The other downside for me is that more than two nights in a row of Tylenol PM or Benadryl and I'm a moody, depressed, draggy mess.

Again Barb = lightweight

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Any thoughts on OTC sleep aids? Imma try that for a few days before I haul my uninsured ass to a doctor.

My dad takes some herbal one -- let me see if I can figure out what it is (I don't mean melatonin or valerian or whatnot -- it has a brand name, like "Sleep Now!" or some nonsense; that's what I'm trying to remember).

He has a LOT of trouble sleeping but says this one works really well for him.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Passion flower. Two capsules. Sleep, funny dreams. IME.

Okay, it's called Deep Sleep. Benadryl and all the other OTC stuff with benadryl in it didn't work well for him. I think he tried valerian and melatonin with no luck. But this one (which does seem to have valerian in it) works pretty well for him. YMMV.

(In Vermont, thanks to my sot of a brother I found that a glass of Wild Turkey knocked me right the hell out. But since I wish to avoid alcoholism, I'm going to stick with Ambien for as long as it works.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Our pede recommended Benadryl, Motrin and Advil in combination for Emmett when everybody was dying from a night of not-sleep.

He said it was safe in combination. (Is that right, Tep?)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

The frackin dog has fleas. I washed him anyway, and his fuzzy ass is relegated to the back porch (screened in, no furniture, just benches) until he can be washed again (he will hate me SO MUCH) with flea shampoo and given a dose of whatever it is. Frontline? And he's sleeping on the back porch until the FL goes into effect.

I haven't seen any fleas on the other animals (since they flee from him, heh heh) and we have all wood floors.

I am showered, yay!

Truds, how does Benadryl affect you? I might advise 1 to 2 with a glass of wine.

E me your addy; I have a fuckton on sleepy tea and vits and minerals I can send you, since they do fuck-all for me.

Are you sure it wasn't Benedryl, Tylenol and Advil? Motrin and Advil are the same drug.

(Also, insert standard warning here about how herbal supplements are unregulated and frequently found to contain massively divergent doses than is listed on the packaging, so be careful about how much you take, herbal != safe, blah blah herbs are drugs toocakes.)

I will not blow up at my BFF for only calling or e-mailing me when she needs something.

That's it!

Anyway, it knocked his ass out. Benadryl doesn't work on Matilda though.
