Joyce: Dawn, you be good. Xander: We will. Just gonna play with some matches, run with scissors, take candy from some guy, I don't know his name.

'Beneath You'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

What the world needs is a good housekeeping book written by someone who seriously fucking loathes housework. They're all written by people who are actually interested in the subject, which is probably good for the person who would otherwise be stuck writing about something they aren't into, but leads to crazy talk about cleaning every day.

I do kind of like some of the housekeeping stuff, I just have no idea what I'm doing. Like, it just doesn't occur to me to clean under the couch cushions until I lose the remote and take the cushions off and realize how much dust and dirt and Cheerios and stuff is there. And the housecleaning aisles at stores have a thousand different tools and chemicals, and I get overwhelmed and can't figure it out. (Also, most of the chemicals make me feel sick. I recently bought a spray bottle of all-purpose cleaner from the health food store. The label has all kinds of stuff about how it's safe and non-toxic and good for the environment, too. I've been using it to clean most of my kitchen and bathroom stuff, and it works pretty well, but nothing gets that bright gleaming shiny look that stuff does at my parents' after the housecleaners have been there and cleaned everything with all that fumy stuff. I don't know if the issue is the cleaner or how I've been using it.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

If I can't use Scrubbing Bubbles or vacuum it, I don't really know how to clean it. Which leads me to realize, I need to Scrubbing Bubble all of the applicable things and vacuum the rest. Suck.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My floors get swept a lot more now that I have a roomba. This makes the dust that doesn't get dusted look all the more dusty. A person who wasn't me would probably dust because of it.

I covet Calli's roomba.

I need to get a replacement battery for my roomba. It died and won't hold a charge any more. It made a difference with the cathair.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We liked this book: [link] It tells you how to Clean All the Things without Taking All the Time.

I read the first chapter of the book I got. It's all about how housekeeping isn't about keeping a house clean, but about making a house homey. She also keeps talking about airing beds. I have no idea what that means.

That reminds me, I need to find a dry cleaner around here. After a week of teaching, most of my good slacks are covered with chalk dust.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Not sure what the strip tease was all about.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Also, most of the chemicals make me feel sick.

I clean almost everything in my house with baking soda, vinegar, and Dr Bronner's Sal's Suds. (The hardwood floors get Murphy's Oil Soap. For dusting I just use those Swiffer fluffy things or a wet rag.)

Our wings are not tired.

She says that the best thing is to vacuum every day, but if that's not possible, then at least vacuum the whole house once a week, and on in-between days, vacuum one or two rooms, so that each room will get done two or three times a week. Do people actually do this?

Guilty. But I have dogs.
