Cross-post from Natter:
Paging Perkins and Ginger.
Did either of you get red blood cell Procrit injections as part of your chemo? And would you be willing to talk to me about it a little bit? A friend of my sister's is having them, and they are causing her so much pain in her bones, that she's considering stopping treatment... I've asked for clarification on whether she means stopping chemo, or just stopping the injections, if that's an option.
ETA: She means stopping chemo altogether.
Good News - the rice did the trick and my cellphone seems to be working.
Bad News - temp agency called and let me know about an assignment, only I didn't get the message until just now and I was supposed to call back by 5pm. I called and left a message and hopefully it's still open.
Ugh. The funeral home around the corner is cremating someone, and the smoke is covering the whole block. I don't know what an appropriate thing to be thinking right now is, but all I've got is that it smells horrible.
Hil: while doing this, did they play "smoke gets in your eyes"?
I hope Daniel's leg continues to improve.
Ew, Hil, that's disturbing. You'd think they'd have filters or something.
blah blah, nothing to see here.
So, it turns out that the 18 yo on my crew, who's already immature, also has ADD. And is not medicated. He talks non-stop and has poor impulse control issues, and today would not stop calling me "chief." He does it again, I'm going to call him "kiddo." I'm just worried about safety stuff, but I'm also concerned that he's going to become the crew's butt monkey. Everyone else is at least 23, and his talkativeness and lack of focus make him an easy target. And I pretty much fail at not showing my frustration.
Argh. More lessons in patience for me.
Shower and bed. I was up until 2 am last night, foo.
I am so excited! My friend got the hard-to-score tickets today, and we just burbled for a bit about costumes and consolidating our makeup and jewelery, and having a cheap craft night to make feathery/sparkly accesories, etc! I am so excited!
I have not done anything like this in years! WOO! She is so generous.
Downside: driving from KC to Detroit with 4 adults, 2 60 lb. dogs and gear in a small KIA. But I don't care! And the sogs are seasoned travelers and mellow as hell, and K and I will bring our laptops and watch movies for 6 hours.
Note to self: get headphone splitter. Anyone know a cheap one? Note to self 2: Price extra laptop battery?
Ok, that is all! But I have been worknig really hard today, so to end the day with this excitement YAY news, I had to flail a bit.
Erin, we handle a lot of sad, angry, and frustrated flail. Thank you for allowing us to share your happy, anticipatory flail.
Yes! More cowbell happy flail!
That sounds like such fun, Erin! I can't wait to hear all about it. It's also great to hear about something fun happening in Detroit instead of just MayorIndictedCrimePovertyVacantBuildingsCrimeLayoffs etc.
