I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

There is nothing like fresh corn cut from the cob, fried lightly in bacon fat, with a ton of pepper.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Nom.

I spent the entire time I was in Indiana waiting for or consuming corn on the cob. So good. We bought some from the farmers' market when we got home, but not as good.

SHUT UP. I have two cobs of corn I need to cook, and now I think I know just how.

I'm at a baby shower. This was a mistake. I really don't want to be here. At least the gift basket I did looks adorable!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Do you feel faint, sj? Perhaps you should leave. And I'm sorry.

I'm here with my mother so I'm stuck. Wine is helping.

This is generally my feeling about baby showers, but I assume that this is a specific thing in your case. Wine does help, don't it?

Yeah, Nora mostly just petty jealousy. I know I shouldn't have a baby at the moment, but it doesn't stop the jealousy.

And now we're playing games.

sj, I’m sorry. As much as I’ve (mostly) made peace with my no-baby-having, showers are still very difficult for me. I only go now if it’s a really close friend. And that wasn’t to be so memememememe. Just saying really that I hear you.

I have escaped. Mom was getting sick of being there too. 3+ hours is too long.
