[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

I read "linger" as 'finger" Needless to say, it gave me a different view of the whole thing.

Thrive to spite them

Found out Spherion is checking my references so that it is a plus. Hopefully this will lead to something.

And then I just heard from Spherion and themselves and it was "we don't have anything. We'll be in touch if we have anything in the future."

Which feels like "don't call us, we'll call you"

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

The only time it would be reasonable to ask someone to not "linger" in a common area of a shared house/apartment

Or if they're spending a TON of time in the only bathroom and I gotta pee.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh, askye, I'm sorry that didn't have anything right now. I hope you find something soon.

I bought a China Glaze teal shimmer shatter polish earlier, and I think I'm going to buy myself an early birthday present - at our office there's a cool bracelet that's silver with a gold salvaged door hinge on it. Very Wonder Woman.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Askye, I'm sorry. I hope something else comes along soon.

smonster, that's just ridiculous. I hope the curtain helps, but I'm with others who say move into the one bedroom and get away from the roommate and the landlord. I did not exercise today, but I'm trying to convince myself to do some exercise at home when mom leaves.

Thrive to spite them

I did mention I was job hunting last night at the knitting club and maybe someone will hear of a job and pass it along.

One of the women works at a real estate agency and told me they are looking for "younger people" and I had I thought about a career in real estate.

But I don't know if I want to invest the time it takes and it's doesn't feel like the best time to try real estate as a career. However, I am going to stop by her office next week and talk to her and get some more information, at least to just make a connection.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Argh, askye, that's freaking annoying.

I'd still call back once a week, no more, keep your name in the person's mind.

"Hello, Ms/Mr Name this is askye at 123-456-7899. I'm calling to check in on available receptionist or administrative assistant work. I'm still looking for a FT position, but I'm eager to get back to work. Please call me if you see anything that would match my qualifications. Thank you so much, NAME, and I appreciate all you're doing for me. I hope you have a good week."

Also, Vortex, that was awesome!

Ok, I got sleep meds last night, but stayed up a little too late working on a resume, but I still woke up earlier than the past insomnia week! At, um, 12:30. Going to bed earlier tonight FOR SURE.

I am be-coffee'd, dressed, flea-work done (except for MORe laundry in machine), walked the dog and am hieing off in 10 minutes for more resume work. As soon as I eat some cereal.

Yeah I need to start calling the other temp agencies. I just got tired of calling and hearing there were no jobs.

If I weren't such in a good place emotionally I'd start taking this personally and thinking I'd managed to piss off every employer in Vermont just by moving here.

Our wings are not tired.

askye, I think it's a good idea to go meet with her. One of my best friends is a top SF realtor and she's always needing help in the office with administrative stuff and she pays pretty well. So maybe if you don't want to be a realtor, you can work part time in the office?
