I just went to one used furniture store and one huge antique store. I found several drop-leaf tables that were almost what I was looking for, but none that were quite right. But at least I know now that antique stores are the place to go, and there are tons of those around here, so I'll check out some others.

Also, discovered once again that wet roads are slippery. It was pouring rain as I was leaving campus, and as I was turning the corner, going no more than about 15 miles per hour (and probably more like 10), I slightly tapped the curb, and the car bounced off the curb and slid across halfway into the next lane. Yikes. I saw the aftermath of three accidents in the ten miles or so on the way home.
