Spike ,'Get It Done'

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Wallybee's cousin is reportedly displaying no contrition for having created this utter clusterfrak either. (I would hope his mother landing in hospital revised his position somewhat.)

I very much doubt it would, as he sounds like an enormous dickwad. Seriously, WTF guy?

Thrive to spite them

If you leave it out for a bit, you can just smear room temp butter over the skin. Eliminates the need for the fancy brush :)

That's what the Thomas Kellor recipe said to do. I think I'm going to combine them - use the seasonings and flavors from Ina Garten's but the cooking method from Thomas Kellor (smear butter, roast breast side down and then flip).

I have a pie pumpkin from the farmer's market I probably won't cook that tomorrow, maybe wait until Thursday. I also have a seasoning packet from one of the other vendors - garlic, star anise, cinnamon, ginger, clove - that I'm going to use on the pumpkin. Maybe cut in wedges and roast it.

I'm actually getting really excited about fall and the produce - maybe because Fall is rather non existent in Florida that I like it and look forward to it the way most people look forward to Spring veggies. Although after a couple of Falls and Winters in Vermont that will probably change.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Ahh, that lovely feeling when you check an email account for the first time in, oh, maybe a week or two and realize you have an appointment in the morning. Such a relaxing 2 a.m. feeling. Coulda been worse. Coulda checked it tomorrow afternoon.

Also I figured out earlier what my Not Hating Trader Joe's Produce thing is. I tend not to get loose stuff there. Unless it's a rock-hard avocado that I can ripen at home (and, I've just recently had good luck with those) or bananas that aren't ripe but show if they've been squished. Because the nectarine that I bought a couple of days ago wasn't ripe last night and it already had a couple of rotted spots. Tonight the 80% that I didn't cut away was magnificent. But it's hard to cull fruit like that. Those clam shell things they have for fruit are clearly used for a reason and I need my stone fruit to come from those. It's tragic to lose nectarine-age.

Bed now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sj, we were there this summer and while it's cool to see, it is a TON of walking. I was exhausted after walking from the far away parking, up to Clifford's Tower, then over to the Shambles, then to York Minster. I've was so glad we got to sit and wait for the tour at York Minster.

I'm worried there is going to be a lot of walking in the various places were going, but we're going to hop on tour buses wherever possible and suck it up and pay for taxis when I can't taking it any more.

Speaking of which, I must go to the gym today. I must get over my anxiety about no PT compounded by the anxiety about not having gone yet and just go. t still trying to convince myself

Although I have been 30+ years in Florida I spent much of my life in NY and other northern states. The spectacular beauty of Fall just never gets old. Just like swimming in my pool outside in January never gets old here. Least favorite up north season was Spring because it meant mud and snow melt and black flies. Down here, let's just say it is 85F with 85% humidity at 8am. Yeah, September is not my favorite Florida month.

Art Crawl!!!

So, is Wallybee's family likely to disown the asshat?

Because my mother got disowned for much less. . .

sj, can you just do 15 minutes? It's easy to get overwhelmed, but promise yourself you can leave after 15 minutes (maybe you will, maybe you won't) and see if that helps.

Once I get there, I know I'll be fine, but it is the getting there that is the problem. I'm trying to work out a bribe of something I can do after that won't cost me any money.

Our wings are not tired.

How about a round of cheers from Buffistas as a reward? Free and kinda satisfying. I totally understand about the just getting there thing. I hope the knowing you will feel better helps you get on the way.
