Sounds like good connections were made, askye!
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Ryan is so lucky, as are you and Wallabee, to have such active and engaged grandparents.
It's true, we're very fortunate. Especially me, I feel; I didn't even grow up in the same culture, let alone family. The potential for friction between unexamined assumptions abounds, yet her parents are two of my favourite people. (Incidentally, trouble with the in-laws is one of the staples of dramatic conflict in traditional Chinese literature.)
The above isn't quite true, of course. The one who's really fortunate is Ryan. He's effectively had four very involved parental figures. Lucky little boy.
I am planning Emeline's birthday party. It is going to be Dr Who themed. Joe and I are getting her the large cardboard cut-outs of the TARDIS and a dalek. I am planning on making mini-fez's as party hats, a TARDIS pinata, these awesome banners with stencils of the various villans, and a TARDIS cake.
There will be a craft table that the kids will be able to make their own bow ties.
She'll have her eyes covered as she walks into the gym at church and when we get her in there, someone will start the iPod and the theme for the show will start and viola! She will be awed and amazed.
We are raising a GIANT NERD. I love it.
Envy. Awe. Envy. Not sure which feeling is stronger.
Fly on up for it! Any and all Buffistae are invited!
Aw, man. Can you come plan my birthday party? It's this month.
Last night was such a fab New Orleans night. Met up with meara at Queerlesque, which was lots of fun. Quite the spectrum of stripping! Lots of messing with genderqueerness, and humor, and sexiness. A couple of misses, but overall a really good show. Then there was dancing with cuties afterwards, and I even gave out my number to someone but I'm going to have to have the "not into polyamory" talk with her right off. Met my friend from OKC/FB finally - damn, she's cute!!! She was one of the performers. Another friend wanted me to come out to Hi Ho to watch some music, but instead I joined StW and his colleague M at R Bar, where an old Christopher Lee Dracula movie was playing silently behind the bar. We had fun making up our own dialogue. And then I went home with StW.
I've spent a lot of time this weekend with StW. When I'm with him, I'm pretty content and comfortable and confident in his affections. It's the times in between that are hard for me. But the more time I spend and I learn about him, the easier it is to trust that he will call me, that there will be a next time. I think he just needed to get last week's talk off his chest, and I've learned more about his last relationship that helps me understand why he's so gunshy. Ultimatums are bad, mmm-kay?
I don't know. At this point I think he's definitely worth waiting around for. I told him about N texting me, and we're all four going to get drinks next Thursday.
Sadly, I forgot about a monthly brunch this morning - you really do need a calendar for your weekends, here. But! Soon I will go to Tom'! Birthday! Party! and it will be AWESOME. And StW may or may not come, and it will be AWESOME either way.
Erm. Sorry to be all mememe.
Yay, smonster! It sounds like you are having a fabulous time. I'm glad you feel you're in a better place with StW.
Damn, I need to get my ass back to the gym this week. Two days of walking around doing touristy stuff at the beach tells me that I will never be able to handle all of the things we want to do in the UK unless I can increase my endurance between now and then.
Aim, I meant to tell you that the party sounds awesome! Also, can you send me your address when you get the chance? Just in case I see any royal wedding things for you while I'm in the UK.
Also, If anyone wants a postcard, send me your address. Profile addy is good.
smonster - glad an equilibrium seems to be occurring
and sj - motivation for more fun is the best reason for exercise. And while I am walking crazy distances now ( only 5 days until the 60 miles in 3days in SF) the perceived wisdom is that you can walk twice as far as you are currently comfortable with . So even just adding a little bit of endurance will make things much better for you
