You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My sinuses are so painful tonight that my teeth hurt.

Oooh! I know this one! And it sucks. Get the mighty drugs tomorrow.

I suspect I have a root canal (or possibly more than one) in my future. I have a dentist appointment Friday to find out.

Back in November (yeah, I *know* I've waited too long, but there seriously is logic of a sorts behind why) I had some extremely deep fillings done in my top right back teeth. And the dentist told me that I might have sensitivity to heat/cold, as well as general discomfort, for several months *because* the fillings were so deep -- I guess when they're very deep, they're close to the nerve(s) and can shake things up.

She also gave me a handout (So You've Gotten A Shitload Of Very Deep Fillings) that said basically the same thing -- due to the fillings being deep, it might be several months before things settled down.

Well (and this is where my weaksauce "logic" comes into play), the term "several months" is pretty fucking vague to me. I assume it's more than 3, but what is the goddamn upper limit? Six? Nine? I don't know what in the hell "several" means, especially when it comes to tooth sensitivity!

...so I waited it out until now because, well, I have become one of those people who doesn't want to go to the dentist because my teeth ALREADY hurt, and I don't want them to hurt more from the dentist poking around.

Yeah, I know.

I can't have anything cold on my upper right back teeth AT ALL. And what's weird (or maybe not) is that my lower right teeth have become sensitive to cold also (I say maybe not weird because I know the trigeminal nerve feeds the upper and lower jaw, so if the nerve is irritated, then I can see why both the upper and lower are sensitive).

The aforementioned handout (So You've Gotten A Shitload Of Very Deep Fillings) *did* say that with fillings that deep, the pulp might be damaged (in fact, actually *getting* deep fillings can potentially damage the pulp), and ultimately root canal might be called for.

So, arrrrgh. But I realized I'm being silly by putting it off. Not being able to eat/drink cold food/beverages for almost a year is insane, and it's a problem of my own making.

So now I'm going to fix it, goddammit.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Aw, Steph. I'm glad you're going to get it checked out.

Holy crap, I'm crashing fast. Not going to finish the dishes tonight, much less go get gelato. I think I'll tuck myself into bed and review decon stuff.

eta hey Nora, the rice came out great! Thanks.

I am glad we have dental insurance at work, is all I have to say. Because I also have a Very Expensive exhaust repair on my car in the near future. Yeesh. Teeth and cars -- useful but potentially expensive!

It's been over six months since I saw my old dentist, so I do need to make an appointment with my new health care plan dentist, but I'm pretty sure that the teeth pain is from sinus, ear issues.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Tep, I've had that experience where the localized tooth pain becomes decidedly less so. (Also with the staggering level of procrastination, but let's not speak of that.)

I am the sinus infection queen, so I often get sinus-related tooth pain. But the sensitivity to cold is not a normal sinus-related tooth thing for me. Plus it started after the fillings, so it seems like it's an Eeek! Denistry! thing.

Steph, have you tried sensitive teeth toothpaste and/or fluoride rinses?
