A cat from my childhood, Beau, had a version of that (though it wasn't as sophisticated 40+ years ago, plumbing rerouted out near his belly. He leaked a little) and he lived to a ripe old 17.

Random new job gossip: Rage Nurse called today to schedule a surgery for one of Vengeance Doc's patients, and was subsequently the subject of some conversation. Apparently she has been so vigorously toxic to everyone in this office that about a year ago the division chief banned her from entering the office and gave the scheduler permission to take her calls only when and if she feels like it. She's physically banned from our actual physical suite. Physically banned. I'm caught between giddy relief and a sort of queasy Just how many goddamn complaints and warnings and grievances does someone have to rack up around here before they get fired? Why the fuck is she still here?
