Honestly, I thought my BP check at the doctors would be sky high, but in the silver lining portion of the day, my BP has decreased on the mild amount of medicine prescribed, so we're not adding anything for now, and not checking in again for another 3 months.
Sorry to hear that Taz is unwell, but this is good news.
Glad it's not worse. Don't suppose you can get him to drink cranberry juice ....
I'm slightly embarrassed, when I went to pick up Tom, they had already taken Taz upstairs and sedated him. At this point I thought he'd be at the vet's all weekend at least, so I asked if I could see him. The vet tech brought him down and lay him on the table and I just burst into tears saying goodbye.
I blame lack of sleep.
No, it's very distressing to see kitties sedated. When I drugged mine the first time for the move, I was convinced I'd killed them and totally freaked out.
I hope the meds have him feeling better, soon.
(btw, don't worry if you need to have a quiet night tonight. Rue Fiya will play again soon, and I probably shouldn't go out hard tonight since I have to be up early tomorrow)
No word yet from job. HIRE ME, DAMMIT.
I'd add that I don't think the amount of notice is the issue so much as sucking up the capacity for people to fill in on shifts, so that when someone like Vortex has an unexpected conflict, the willingness of people to take extra shifts has dried up.
Exactly. Plus, we tend to work weekends, so that people have other stuff planned (or just want to relax) and it's hard to get people to cover.
the other thing is that the scheduler is trying to make sure that everyone has the same amount of shifts, but I think that if someone fucks up the rotation, they shouldn't be accomodated by taking shifts from someone else. This is possibly an issue for me currently because of my current unemployment.

Yeah, sigh. I really did want to see them. I doubt I'll even get to the Avenue Pub.
Thanks for all the kitteh~ma. I know I'm preaching to the choir (in some but not all cases) but my cats are my babies!
I think you can speak to him but I don't know that it will make too much of a difference. The fact of the matter is that someone who is trying to be a professional actor is almost always going to drop everything for an audition or an acting gig, and I don't really blame them. It's even written into the small theatre contract here (99 seat theatre or less) that if an actor gets a film or commercial role, or a larger union gig that they can drop the roll, even if the show has already opened. At the end of the day, while the house management job may be his main source of income, his acting is where the focus of his career is residing.
I'm sorry Taz isn't doing well, Nora. I hope his infection clears up quickly.
sumi,
did you call the pharmacist? what happened?

I understand and respect that. I'm actually not going to talk to him, I want to talk to the boss and say that he has to stop allowing this to happen. There's no reason for him to stop doing it, or change his priorities if we just say "okay, we'll deal with it".
He's actually pretty good about notice, but it still screws with the schedule.
