Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Librarian Warlord

How in the heck do I dress for a job interview in New Orleans summer that involves being out on a potential job site for part of it? Closed toe shoes and long pants, yes... and a short sleeve blouse, I guess?

How would you dress if you were a male? Would the shirt be a polo or a button down?

“Not dead yet!”

Skipping and skimming like a skimmy thing-- go smonster on your job interview-- you're totally going to rock it!

Much ~ma and feel better to everyone who needs it.

I'm in recovery after my weekend of dancing-- yesterday went okay. I kind of choked on cha-cha which is still pissing me off, but it gives me something to work towards. I was thinking too much, which Lewis said was clear. He could see the wheels turning and smell the smoke. The rumba was better-- and I did take a first in one of the heats, but overall, what I got out of the weekend was seeing concrete evidence of what I want to accomplish, the bad habits I want nip in the bud, and putting some faces and names to the people I'm going to run up against as I start competing more throughout the West Coast. (Which... *she mumbles somewhat sheepishly* I'm going to do.) Should things continue progressing the way I want, I'll be in SoCal for the Hollywood Dancesport Series the first weekend in November.

I also saw a LOT of tacky ballroom gowns/dresses. Oh my word, I'm so glad my instructors steered me in the right direction with respect to laying out money for nice gowns now.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Latin dancing seems to require fringe ... lots and lots of fringe.

Congrats, Barb!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Barb,

I feel like watching "Strictly Ballroom" again in your honor.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Barb, the more you dance in general, the more all the basics (posture, etc) will become automatic; the more you dance a given routine, the more it becomes automatic. Less thinky, then. (all probably stuff you already know)

Latin dancing seems to require fringe ... lots and lots of fringe.

And depending on the costume, not much else!

If you're on G+, I posted a picture of my probable interview outfit tomorrow. (If you're not on G+ and really want to see it, let me know.)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think you have special pill swallowing skills.

Don't knock it 'till you've tried it. I used to have to use a pill cup for all but the smallest tablets. Now I swallow a daily multi vitamin with ease. (granted, I'm not sure I could hack one of the pills my mom has to take, so it's all relative)

Ooh. They're all cute, Glam! I think all of them except ScarJo and the "short messy" (which has short bangs) are pretty similar. I can't quite picture how you'd look with the bangs. Some of it depends on how straight/wavy your hair is, too...

I have bangs now (you can see them in my profile picture at that site). I have super straight hair and tried to pick styles that I think would work with my hair, but maybe not?
