I wish I'd remembered them sooner. I know about them because about six months after Katrina the Episcopalian Bishop of Louisiana spoke at my church. Just a few days before Katrina he and his wife had moved into their new house ... on the shore of Lake Ponchatrain (sp?) and he'd gotten Jericho Road started.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I have a hairdressing dilemma. My usual hairdresser is out with surgery. Unfortunately, when I was young and ignorant, I switched hairdressers within the salon, which I now know is simply not done. The original hairdresser is still there, would it be tacky to go back to her temporarily while my favorite hairdresser is out?
Call the salon and ask if Usual Hairdresser has specified if a particular stylist is taking her clients while she is out. Explain that normally you would wait for her to get back, but you have an event and you must get in sooner than Usual Hairdresser will be available.
Barb, I'm sorry that the outcome wasn't what you wanted.
So the thing I was waiting on, which was the results of a publisher acquisitions meeting didn't turn out in my favor. They love my writing, were intrigued at the possibility of bringing me into the fold, but felt the story was plotted too similarly to other books out there and perhaps more importantly, too similarly to other books in their own pipeline, with which they were concerned it would compete.
So, end result: they love me-- just not enough. Story of my life.
Ugh, sorry Barb.
I reiterate my offer to run errands or do anything that needs doing.
Maybe picking Tom up from work later? I will let you know what we work out in a couple hours. My phone is being stupid (not able to send texts, not ringing when someone calls me) so I might Gchat you or ping you on the board later.
Most people get postcards, or maybe a snow globe.
smonster, it looks my text went through, hopefully I'll be able to receive your answer...
I'm sorry, Barb.
smonster, I think you're right. I'll email amyth and see if she has any words of wisdom or whatnot.
Zenkitty, I think that, barring surgery that they'd rather not do, it's a chronic thing. Once the little crystals in your inner ear get loose they're liable to go wandering. I guess the question is if it's an every three years or every three weeks kinda chronic.
So sorry to hear the bad news, Barb, Calli. I'm glad it's benign Calli, but I know how much you love flying. Hope it doesn't interfere.
