if you're not the ideal professional Goth, who is?
Siouxsie Sioux, Dave Vanian, or Tim Burton. ::nods::
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I don't know. Of course "Professional" is a bit misleading in this context. You live Goth 24 hours a day. Plus in your Gothic Miss Manners and other writing you do Professional Goth as your second Goth. On the whole, I'd say you beat all of the above for Goth essence.
Jilli, that is EXCELLENT!
Also, and I realize this is the wrong thread for it, I just finished Heartless, and it actually made me say "Holy SHIT!" out loud, at about 4 different places in the book.
Jilli, you also bring practical knowlege of living as a goth in a non-goth world, where it isn't something you do as performance art - or a style that is part of a performance - but just day to day life.
Jilli, I love that you have essentially made BEING YOURSELF your job.
Oh, let me echo this! That's wonderful!

You people are really good at pep talks. Thank you.
Teppy, I replied to your Heartless squee over in Lit.
I just realized that I need MULTIPLE To Do lists to keep track of everything right now. Ye gods.
Massive health~ma all around!
Jilli! *squee*
ION, I have an air conditioner! My landlady found a small one that is plugged into a heavy duty extension cord that is plugged into the outlet over my stove which is on the opposite side of my only room. But, I'm cool!
This is mostly important because I have a job interview for a job I desperately want to get, but will require commuting 35 miles one way, to another city. The last job I had doing that fell through because the heat and humidity did not allow me to get enough sleep and I just couldn't learn the job fast enough because I was so brain dead.
The one huge worry I have, besides the sleep and my old car, is that the job requires an up-beat, bubbly personality. I can fake this, but only if I have enough sleep and enough medication to deal with my anxiety and depression. I prefer to be my mordant, cynical and sarcastic self, but I need this job!
It's at the University of Iowa! There will be intelligent people to talk to! It's in the printing department, the only industry I know as well as I know theatre! It's in a much cooler town! It pays what I was making in KC before I got laid off 2.5 years ago!
I want this so bad!!!
Jilli,
have you tried Wunderlist? I find it helpful for multiple lists. It is free!
Woot Jilli! Sounds like a fun project, and a perfect fit for you. You realize you are starting to live your bliss? So cool.
Much interview~ma, quester. I've heard good things about the University of Iowa, mostly their creative writing program. I hope this comes through for you.
