Oh Maria, darling sorella-- I'm so sorry this year is being such a mean bitch to you and the familia. Along with what everyone else has said, you have all my love and ~ma and anything else you need--
And indeed, fuck cancer with a rusty chainsaw. Sideways.
I use the Oxford comma in my own letters, postings, etc., but for work I have to deny it its due.
And because it deserves its own post,
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, Jilli!! That is SO awesome!
I had a boss call me on putting in the Oxford comma, saying condescendingly she could understand
why
I thought they were required. *So* not my favourite boss. Getting edits from her was like being styled with a nit comb.
Congratulations Jilli! Professional Goth is so your due!
Since today is the last day of the dayjob, my plan is to focus on this movie thing and finishing my fiction project so I can hand it to my agent in late September. While job-hunting and keeping Gothic Charm School ticking along.
Jilli, I love that you have essentially made BEING YOURSELF your job.
It is all part of the
"become a fabulously wealthy eccentric"
plan. If I could claim to have a plan, which I kinda don't. I just do stuff.
We have a big fraternity (Omega Psi Phi) meeting in town and the area is crowded with members wearing their colors - purple and gold. Is it VERY wrong that the line "The Assyrian swept down on the fold" keeps going through my mind?
Getting edits from her was like being styled with a nit comb.
Snerk.
I just spent a solid hour reconciling my budgeting software with my online banking account. Conclusion - my rent check will not, in fact, bounce. Yayes. Now I just need to get checks for my *new* checking account and then I'll be able to pay August rent. And a million other things, but I'm celebrating this victory by taking the dog for a walk.
Jilli - that is BLOODY FANTASTIC!!!! Go you with your Goth self!!
I have been a sewing fiend today! I have made skirts! Pics can (hopefully) be seen here: [link]
The first 6 pictures are the skirt and then a close up of the print. I have a certain affinity for obnoxious 70's prints.
