Yay ND!
I managed to get through today with much less pain than I'd expected. I attached the TENS electrode things and the wires to my ankle before getting dressed, and hooked the battery pack onto my waistband, and turned it on and off through the day as I needed it. Keeping in on through teaching helped a lot, since all the walking up and down the room hurts. I thought about keeping it on while driving, but decided that I wasn't sure if that was safe.
I stopped at the health food store on the way home. This place is so ridiculously impossible to find. You can't see it from the main road, but there's a sign by the main road right in front of where the store is. Problem is, if you're going in one direction, then the turnoff for the store is the second one after the sign, not the first one like you'd expect. If you're coming from the other direction, the turnoff is before the sign. And the sign doesn't say any of this.
It looks like the feeding tube will be coming out tomorrow barring any major setbacks.
Yay for good digestion news for Drew!
And yay for the TENS unit helping your ankle, Hil.
I also just sent a message to a guy on JDate. We'll see how that goes.
the student union at my uni was called The Shatner Building per a student referendum.
Nicknamed The Shat.
Luckily not until after I stopped going there. The horror.
Good news, Drew!
Off to get more ice and rewrap my hand.

Was one of the guys who needed punching wearing plate armor?
Is this the same prof who blogged about the need for more study in the exact area I proposed? Who emailed saying he'd be happy to support such research? Why heck yes.
OMG SMITE.
So glad to hear that the soup is treating you right, Drew.
Hil, good that the TENS helps you.
Today, my officemate went off on a rant about how the TIAA-CREF retirement fund is forcing him to invest in all kinds of things that he doesn't want to invest in, because he'll only invest in precious metals, because that's the only real commodity, and the Fed is ruining our currency, and a dollar isn't worth anything anymore, the only thing worth anything now is gold.
Oooh a gold bug. Hil I can mess that up. Lemme get my notes.
Amych, Brenda, Shir, Ginger, Smonster, I salute you
Eta: now what do I do?
