Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh hell yes, Jilli. Please.

Ginger, Erin, Todd, and Laura continue to prove the awesomeness of Buffista backup. Thank you.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{le nubian}}} I'm sorry. Best of luck getting the best info for dealing with the diabetes.

Jilli, yes please share your good news!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Sooo, that Super Secret Project I've been alluding to, and was in Portland over the weekend for? I've been hired as a consultant for an indie movie. I'm being paid to be a professional Goth. And there is a very good chance I will end up as an Associate Producer for it; my agent and the movie people are working out contract details.

Of course, I keep swinging back and forth between "This is totally awesome! Go me!" and "I have tricked people into believing I know what I'm doing, ohshit." I'm trying to pay more attention to the first part.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Laura,

thank you. I LOVE bread and pasta, so I am doomed. I think I'll search for some whole grain breads and pastas, look at the nutritional info and decide if it is worth it to eat it. My sugar has fallen quite a bit through my own machinations in 2 days, so I am hopeful.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

yay Jilli!

and you DO know what you're doing! Seriously, how many people, when giving a list of what you need for a goth wardrobe, would start off with lint rollers?

Woo Hoo, Jilli!!! That is awesome!

Jilli, you are talented and amazing, and if you doubt that come back here and we'll remind you again.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jilli, I think that is fantastic. When all is public, you do know you need to do some kind of commentary reel that we will all listen to as we encounter the movie in various forms and formats.

I will buy it!

"This is totally awesome! Go me!"

Correct.

"I have tricked people into believing I know what I'm doing, ohshit."

As incorrect as the denial of the Oxford comma.

Jilli, that's very exciting! I can't wait to hear more about this project when you have the ability to talk about it openly.

le nubian, I'd highly recommend meeting with a nutritionist/dietician specifically schooled in diabetic nutrition. It's a whole different food world out there now for you, and this can help you set a baseline for what's good and not, as well as ensure you get the right information to make smart choices.

Ha! I will have to remember to tell that response to my therapist; she will approve.

Thanks, gang! I should be able to really REALLY talk about things at the beginning of September. It's all so crazy!

That's terrific, Jilli!
