think we're three moves to New Orleans' two?
Hey, I was just plumping for a visit! But she can move here, too, that'd be cool. And I think we're a pretty good distance from the mom, if not quite a continent.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

In this weather, I'm all for a Buffista colony in the Pacific Northwest.
Currently 65F & sunny. IJS...
I second this and also highly recommend putting a continent between oneself and one's crazy making mother.
It works for in-laws, too.
Only two days after we let the new cats out for the first time, Milo (the late-neutered male with the very tomcat habits but no balls to back them up with, literally) has got into his very first fight. I panicked so we took him to the out-of-hours vet. He's fine (and looks hilarious with shorn bits), but I feel like a terrible cat-mummy. Also I sobbed all the way to the vet's. I am never allowed to have children. I am allowed another glass of wine though.
I'm looking for the necessity of a plane flight, so NOLA or Seattle would work.
Vortex, that sucks, but may it be a blessing in disguise. Or at the very least, some nice downtime while you find a better job.
ION, Cupcake chardonnay? Pretty decent. (Does not taste like cupcakes. I wouldn't have bought it if I thought it did.)

I really like the Cupcake brand of wines. It's reasonable priced and yummy. Apparently they make vodka now too.
The chardonnay got a really good Wine Spectator rating (88/100), and it's a $9-14 wine, depending on where you buy it. This is how the winery describes it:
Decadent levels of butter, cream, bright citrus and vanilla melt into a balance of oak and subtle spice.
Buttery, oaky chardonnay is my OTChardonnay. Oh hell yeah.
Chicago! Don't forget Chicago.
Well, I got back home to Pennsylvania, and there was a dead mouse in my kitchen to greet me. Lovely. I told my landlords and then went out for a while, and when I came back, the mouse was gone. I prefer not to know details.
I also got some of those Second Skin things that were recommended for burns, and, while I can't really judge how well they actually work based on just a few hours, it is keeping me from poking at the burn, which is probably good.
Plus, I discovered that my local library has Mad Men DVDs. When that show started, my cable system didn't have AMC, so I never really got into it, but everyone keeps telling me that I should watch it.
