Oh, damnit, Vortex. I'm so sorry. Better-job~ma to you (FWIW, at my university, people routinely go for months or even years trying to change jobs, find nothing, get laid off and suddenly find themselves with wall-to-wall interviews--the preferential rehire policy sucks for the actually employed, but most of the laid-off people I've known have gone on to something better pretty quickly).
