Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

We had the most unbelievable rainstorm on Friday night. It came on all of a sudden sometime after midnight and was one of those where it's coming down so hard it's actually painful, but while those are usually a few minutes or fits and starts, this did not let up at all for at least three hours.

Conveniently, we had just arrived at the bar about four blocks from home when it started. No umbrellas, natch. They kicked us out at two when they started flooding. By the time we got back to my place, the baseball field across the street was almost knee deep underwater. (Which I know for a fact, because our Jameson-fueled minds immediately concluded that the thing to do was to start Nestea Plunging and slip-n-sliding. Well, we weren't gonna get any wetter.)

It had stopped raining by about 4 am and still set a single day rain record for the year, I'm told.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Don't wanna do anything today. Tired. And apparently whining.

Tomorrow is big move day. Workshop goes from basement of old building, to 3rd floor of new. Must do final packing/labeling. And sweep floor in new spaces, as it still has a fair amount of construction dust. Ick.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

You find a good place to keep your car out of flooding range?

I think popping two wheels up on the curb will do the trick most of the time. If not, there's that warehouse on 4th and St. Thomas that has a bit of inclined parking. It's just that last Monday, we got 7 inches in two hours, and according to Kr, the pumps can handle 1" the first hour and 1/2" thereafter.

~ma, Maria!!! I hope you get it.

These chairs... I just can't even - "UK designer Freyja Sewell dreamed up a unique way to offer people personal retreats—without even leaving their homes. " [link]

I kind of like it. I think it would be comforting when I'm really upset. And I'm sure my cats would love something like that to their scale.

I don't know that I'd buy one of those chairs, but their resemblance to bao (dumplings) charms me.

Those chairs look too much like body parts or something that creates pod people.

Interview~ma to Maria! They'd be crazy not to hire you.

I have a number of unpleasant phone calls to make, and am being avoidy. Hmph. I will make one at a time, and in between do something productive but not traumatic.

move out and draw fire

Yeah. So much so that the red lining strikes me as really unfortunate.

But there's a slit to see out through! So the pod chair is a Womb With a View.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Aims, it's been unbelievably hot in DC. We're supposed to get rain tonight and cool it off to regular DC-in-the-summer-hot (remember when you and Em - in utero - were here before?). Prepare for warm weather and over-air-conditioned buildings.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I was thinking I couldn't go wrong with a lightweight cardigan in my day pack. Is that about right?
