Puppycat just discovered bubblewrap. She's sitting on it, pouncing on it and jumping straight up startled when it pops. She's not good at bubblewrap, but she's discovered it.

Anybody else want Simon's Cat to discover bubble wrap soon? Cuz a line drawing animation is. The. Perfect. Way to illustrate this. Puppycat is better at bubble wrap than my cats are. Of course that may be because the humans in this household bogart all the bubble wrap and they never get a chance at it.

Which, of course, being me, I wanted to, like, edit.

Of course, if someone you respect needs an obit. you want it to at least be a well-crafted one.

I am massively cranky. I'm still a bit hungover, which, fine, that's my fault. And I just got back from running errands, where I discovered that my old prescription card has expired. Have I gotten a new one, a month after I signed up for COBRA? Fuck no. Have I gotten a bill for nearly $700, due by 7/10? Fuck yes. FUCKERS. Not to mention that I wonder if my old company is going to go under, which would kill my COBRA anyway.

Ahem. Rant over. Now to make carrot salad, drink Gatorade, pop ibuprofen, and party dammit.

(Also, I'm being totally 15 and want St.W to call me now now now, even though I saw him yesterday.)

Okay. I've chugged Gatorade, cranked up Danger Days, and made the spicy carrot slaw. It's in the freezer speed-chilling while I feed the animals and get ready to go.

I have partied, and now I'm home. Man, I really hope my new friend L is on the same page as I am with the whole "friend" thing. I feel an awkward conversation coming on.

I am proud of myself for not texting St.W, despite being tipsy.

Currently at Taronga Zoo. Views over the Harbour to the Opera House and Bridge and CBD are phenomenal. The giraffes are pretty awesome too. Ryan is happy to agree. More after lunch and elephants.

billytea, did you see the Taronga Zoo's flying foxes? They have a lovely cameo in Allyson's book; I've read about them and edited their story and seen pictures, but I have yet to get to meet them in person, which is sad-making because they sound amazing.
