Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

But sometimes having an advocate helps.

Only if he wants it. He's an adult, and I really don't want to interfere or try to run his life. Which is fucking HARD, since I always want to run *everyone's* lives.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Could you ask him if he wants an advocate on this? Then as an adult he could say "yes" or "no".

“Not dead yet!”

But watching Real Genius the other night I realized that to those women I probably came off like Jordan. And that thought left me obscurely comforted. "Pardon?"

Dude, I'd totes take being like Jordan. She was awesome. Refinishing the hall floors because she had an excess of energy.

“Not dead yet!”

Rice Krispies:

Thank you for the comments on the dancing. As I said to Lewis after summoning up the nerve to watch: "It wasn't... bad. Some things I did very well, some, not so well, but it gives me something to work on."

And I'll be working, believe me since *mumbles* that's going to be my competition rumba.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Happy birthday, Epic!!

I wish I could watch your video, Barb, but my office blocks YouTube. Darnit.

In Ebert's review of Real Genius, he says, "Real Genius allows every one of its characters the freedom to be complicated and quirky and individual. That's especially true of Jordan...I recognize students like this from my own undergraduate days. One of the most familiar types on campus (and one of the rarest in the movies) is the self-styled eccentric, who develops a complex of weird personality traits as a way of clearing space and defining himself.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Well, I sucked up my nerve and posted the video Lewis took. I'll probably only leave it up for a while and then take it down, so if you wanna see what three months of lessons looks like, here's your chance.

as much as I enjoyed your partner's hips, there wasn't nearly enough BARB! What I did see, however, was great!

“Not dead yet!”

::SNORT::

Yeah, FJ's hips are on ball bearings, I swear. It was just unfortunate that Lewis and the kids wound up sitting on the side I was least visible from and no, that wasn't even intentional on my part.

Poor Nate, he about had a heart attack when he a) saw his mom in that costume and b) saw his mom moving like that. He said the back bend move was alarming. *snicker*

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Shoot, just lost a huge post, then lost it again while reconstructing. I'll try again (and try to figure out which button I keep hitting accidentally that takes me back to the previous page (rasenfrassen tiny-keyed netbook that I have to use 'til my laptop's fixed...)

Happy EPIC birthday! There'll be poems and songs.

Thanks, All! Excellent day so far. Low-key in the best way. Mom & I went to Denny's to collect my free bday breakfast, then came home with the plan to watch hoarded Dr Who on my DVR, but fell asleep instead (carb-loading and slightly insufficient sleep? Why yes), but as a nap is usually forbidden fruit on a weekday afternoon, I'm still calling it a win. Going out soon for my fave Italian and a movie. An excellent day all around. And since I'm going to be in LA for Can't Stop the Serenity this weekend, I had to postpone getting together with friends until next weekend - 2 week bday FTW!

Barb, lovely piece of writing. Made me want to go out & find a you-equivalent to befriend/encourage/mentor. Also, awesome bruise - looks like it's coming in with excellent color selections (I also love to dance and constantly trip over my own shoes, BTW). And, great bit of dancing! I, too, was struck by your lovely arms, seriously.

sj, best of luck with the neighbors. Wish I had advice, but that fear of retaliation thing is tricky as hell.

Steph, the first thing I thought was "2nd opinion", preferably from a specialist, before adding to the better living through chemistry...but given the amount of time I've spent in LTRs (approximately...zero), I have no further advice for how you need to respond to Tim's situation.

Thanks to all of you who posted on my Facebook page as well, I really appreciate it. Especially JZ, that extra bit of encouragement/welcome back was really sweet.

Thrive to spite them

I hate writing cover letters. Especially when there's no real job description just a title. I really need to get better at selling myself.

That is hard, askye. Goodluck advertising your awesomeness.

Oh, I don't know if she wanders through here anymore, but just in case...I'm pretty sure it's also tiggy's bday today. So -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TIGGY!! MANY HAPPY RETURNS!!!
