Man, my sleep schedule and left shoulder are both totally borked. ::sigh::
Possibly the best quote out of context from last night's b-day party for K: "Hey, I may work at a strip club, but I still have
feelings
!"
I am tackling my feelings of overwhelm with a timer and to-do lists. I shall not be daunted! I shall prevail, or at least make a small dent in the mountain of tasks before me!
WRT housecleaners: What Pix said.
"Hey, I may work at a strip club, but I still have feelings !"
Thay guy was hilarious. Sorry we left early, Tom was nearing the end of his social time. It's sort of an unspoken deal we have: I respect when he's ready to go, and he respects when I say we need to go out. As he says, "if it were up to me (Tom), we'd never go out and if it were up to you, (Nora) we'd never come home."
I'm thinking about having a housecleaner in at least once after vacation to do a deep clean, because -- sweet Jesus. We are nasty people.
Us too. We just did a huge clean up before our family came today. And every time we do a huge clean up we say we're going to maintain it, but it just never happens. The only problem with getting a housekeeper to come in even once a month is making sure that the place is picked up enough that I'm not embarrassed for the housekeeper to see it.
Eh, no worries. I got embroiled in a very stoned convo with D, who was so out of it by the end he left his phone, sunglasses, and bike there. Were you there when the strip club guy (who I guess is K's neighbor?) told us he was born in 1951? He looks damn good, especially considering all the partying he's done. And I think you and Tom have a very good system.
I have: unpacked 3 kitchen boxes, scooped the cat pan, mopped 1st br (mostly), started mopping bathroom, and washed dishes. Next is seeing if I can cut through the paint so the pocket doors can close.
Yeah, that didn't go as well as I had hoped. So I did some easy things: put drawers in dresser, moved makeup and nail polish to shelf from floor, grouped cleaning supplies under sink. And now I think it's time to fix dinner.
It's a Plei day!
I have an evening to myself. Bliss.
Holy Cow, the Chicago Cubs are doing an It Gets Better video. Is it possible that a professional ballplayer is about to come out?
Not to be all one-uppy...okay, TOTALLY to be one-uppy, the SF Giants did it first. :)
